It’s been about 10 months since someone broke into Karg and Sons Marathon in the 2200 block of West Market Street and walked away with about 20 cartons of cigarettes.
Akron police said Thursday they have charged John W. Ross III, 67, of Columbus, with breaking and entering after blood left at the crime scene July 6 matched his DNA.
But it’s not Ross’s only trouble with smokes. Police said Ross is in Medina County Jail on unrelated, yet similar charges.
Online court records show that Ross faces more than 10 felony charges in Medina County, including breaking and entering and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
In the months after the Akron break-in, Ross and another man were accused of breaking into three gas stations in Medina and Lodi, stealing thousands of dollars in cigarettes.
