Akron police are investigating the attempted robbery of the CVS store at 235 E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave. about 2 p.m. Friday.
CVS employees said the robber entered the store about 1:30 p.m. and walked around. A store employee thought he looked like a man involved in robberies of stores in Cuyahoga Falls. The employee approached him and asked if he needed any help. The man said, “no,” and left the store.
The man returned to the store a half hour later, this time wearing a white mask. He approached the pharmacy counter, put a black handgun on the counter and demanded Oxymorphone. A worker told the man he recognized him from before and that the police were enroute. The man fled without getting anything.
Police described the man as a white male, 16 to 20 years old, between 5 foot 8 inches and 5 foot 11 inches tall, and weighing 150 to 170 pounds. He has short brown hair and wore a light grey Aeropostale hooded sweatshirt, dark colored sweat pants with a light stripe, and a white mask.
