Akron police said they arrested a naked man found beneath his neighbor’s dining room table late Friday night.

Officers found Tracey L. Wooden naked, bleeding and incoherent under the table inside another East Archwood Avenue home.

The homeowner, according to the police report, had called police from inside his home after Wooden, 46, had broken in through a front window.

When police arrived, they said they found a trail of blood from the window along the living room floor to where Wooden was under the dining room table. His erratic behavior was described as “consistent” with drugs.

Police have handled other calls where suspects take off their clothes after ingesting methamphetamine, ecstasy or so-called bath salts.

When attempting to arrest Wooden, police said the man “appeared to show signs of excited delirium” as he kicked officers and refused to come out from beneath the table. Police said they used a stun gun and handcuffed him, but he continued to fight back.

Wooden was treated at a hospital before being booked at the Summit County Jail, where he was awaiting a Tuesday morning arraignment at Akron Municipal Court.

Since 1998, Wooden has been charged or convicted at least 19 times of various counts, including forgery, grand theft, possession of crack and cocaine, passing bad checks, failing to care for an impaired relative and intimidating the victim of a crime.

He also has asked police more than once to investigate missing items at his residences.

Wooden and another man, each wielding either a bat or shovel, reportedly fought outside a convenience store on East South Street in 2013. Wooden, according to police, decided not to press charges against the other man after he was told he too would be arrested, though he was taken to Macedonia on an outstanding warrant.

In February 2014, nearly a year ago to the day, Wooden began a five-month stint in the Summit County jail for reportedly neglecting to care for his father.
