A Kickapoo Avenue man, 36, was charged with domestic violence with a previous conviction. Police said he became upset with his girlfriend and threw a shot glass at her face, cutting her nose.
A Chalker Street man, 20, was charged with robbery and felonious assault. Police said he was intoxicated and attempted to take the victim’s car keys. When the victim resisted, the man threw the victim to the ground and bit the victim’s earlobe, then fled with the victim’s cellphone.
A Hartford Avenue man, 31, was charged with improper handling of firearms, possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop.
A Carey Avenue man, 47, was charged with receiving stolen property after police said the car he was driving had been reported as stolen.
A Canton woman, 18, was charged with receiving stolen property after she was stopped while driving a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
A Russell Avenue man, 36, was arrested by Tallmadge police on a warrant and taken to Summit County Jail by Akron police. He was charged with felonious assault in a July incident in which the victim was shot in the leg.
A Rocky Brook Drive man, 21, was charged with drug abuse/cocaine, assault and obstructing official business. A security guard told police he witnessed the suspect beating up the victim.
A Wyley Avenue man, 26, was charged with domestic violence after neighbors told police they saw him hit, slap and choke his girlfriend.
A 35-year-old man, no address given, was charged with harassment with a bodily substance and aggravated menacing. Officers were called to a business for a violent person who appeared to be psychotic, causing problems for workers. When police arrived, the man had to be handcuffed due to his violent behavior. He also made several statements about killing officers and spat on an officer.
A Frederick Boulevard man, 55, was charged with domestic violence following an argument during which police said he punched his girlfriend in the face.
An East Linwood Avenue woman, 53, was charged with felony theft from the elderly. Police said she was a live-in caregiver for the victim and wrote checks totaling $10,571 without the client’s knowledge.
A Callis Drive man, 52, was charged with domestic violence. Officers said the man violated a protective order and broke the victim’s telephone.
A Ripley Avenue man, 19, was charged with weapons under disability and aggravated menacing. Police said he held a gun to the victim’s ribs during an attempted robbery in the parking lot of a business. A witness tackled and wrestled the gun away from the suspect, who fled was but was recorded on store surveillance video.
A Helen Avenue man, 31, and Flint Avenue man, 23, were charged with aggravated robbery after police said the two and an accomplice robbed a victim at gunpoint.
A Hazel Street man, 19, was charged with receiving stolen property. Police said he purchased guns and a PlayStation 4 game system that were stolen in a burglary.
A 22nd Street man, 30, was charged with receiving stolen property after he was found in possession of a firearm that had been stolen in a burglary.
A Sheridan Street man, 19, was charged with weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, resisting arrest, drug paraphernalia, possession of a defaced firearm and obstructing official business following questioning related to a robbery.
A Manchester Road man, 46, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property, drug abuse cocaine, drug abuse marijuana, obstructing official business and weapons under disability. The man, who matched the description of a male involved in a domestic fight, was stopped for walking in the middle of the roadway, waving and talking to a passing motorist. When officers asked him for identification, he gave false information and ran. He was arrested following a brief foot chase.

A man, 23, was arrested Jan. 23 on Sun Valley Drive on a felony warrant from Akron for misuse of a credit card.

Summit sheriff’s deputies were notified Jan. 17 that forced entry was made to a Flowerdale Drive home and 20 items, including two TV sets, tools, two pellet guns, power equipment and other items, were stolen.
A man checking a Manchester Road home told authorities that someone had entered the structure and made off with copper pipe.

An Underwood Street man, 19, was charged Jan. 27 with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing official business, permitting drug abuse and tampering with evidence. The man’s girlfriend was found unconscious in the street in front of his residence after using heroin inside, police said. She was resuscitated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital.
An Akron man, 41, was charged Jan. 24 with possession of drugs, possession of chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, and tampering with evidence.
An Akron man, 24, was charged Jan. 23 with theft. He is accusing of taking blank checks from Hibachi Japan, 2251 Front St.

A 9 mm semiautomatic handgun was stolen Jan. 25 from a home in the 3000 block of Hudson Drive.
Video games and DVDs valued at a total of $255 were taken Jan. 20 from an apartment in the 700 block of Center Street.
A home in the 1700 block of Ninth Street was broken into Jan. 21. Electronics valued at nearly $6,000 were taken.
Extortion
A Meadow Lane man reported Jan. 23 that while speaking to a person over an Internet calling application, the other person threatened to post an embarrassing video unless the man sent $100.
Forgery
Someone used eight counterfeit $20 bills to purchase merchandise Jan. 23 from PetSmart, 355 Howe Ave.
Identity theft
A Third Street woman reported Jan. 21 that someone used her personal information to secure a $750 loan.
Telecommunications fraud
A Seventh Street man reported Jan. 27 that he put $1,500 in reloadable money cards onto what he thought was an eBay pay site. The money was taken.
Thefts
A .32-caliber automatic pistol was taken from a home in the 1800 block of Issaquoah Street between Jan. 19 and 20.
An Akron woman, 86, reported that someone took her purse from a shopping cart Jan. 23 while she was shopping at Giant Eagle, 230 Howe Ave.
A West Heritage Drive man reported Jan. 26 that someone stole nearly $1,000 from his bank account.

On Jan. 20, an Akron woman, 35, was charged with theft after police said she exited Giant Eagle, 2775 W. Market St., with $607.99 worth of groceries without paying. When confronted by a store employee, she said she had a lot on her mind and forgot to pay. She was given the option to come back inside the store and pay but refused, abandoning the cart and merchandise and driving away. Fairlawn police used surveillance video to identify her.
An Akron man was charged with theft after police said he attempted to take $191.44 in beef tenderloin from Sam’s Club, 3750 W. Market St., without paying.
A Salem man was charged with theft after police said he admitted to trying to conceal a package of razors valued at $9.97 in his jacket and leaving Walmart, 3750 W. Market St., without paying.
On Jan. 21 an Akron man was charged with theft after police said he left Dillard’s, 3625 W. Market St., without paying for two Polo shirts valued at $45.
A Parma man, 43, and a Brooklyn Heights man, 27, were charged with theft after an incident at Walmart, 3750 W. Market St. According to a police report, the Parma man attempted to take items from the store. When confronted, he fled in a van with the other suspect. Bath police stopped the vehicle a short time later. Several boxed items of tools and home goods taken from several stores in the Cleveland area were inside the van, police said.

Someone broke a window of a car parked at Walgreens, 3009 W. Market St., while the customer was shopping and took the woman’s handbag and ID badge.

A Barberton man, 44, was charged with domestic violence Jan. 16 after his girlfriend said he had threatened to kill her and was chasing her when their vehicles were stopped on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road.
Burglary
Authorities were alerted Jan. 14 that someone entered a vacant home on Christman Road and stole an undetermined amount of copper pipe from the water heater and the baseboard heating system.
Misuse of credit cards
A Stoney Creek Drive man told a deputy Jan. 20 that he made a first installment payment after he was called by someone claiming to be with a loan company. He later learned that five transactions totaling $1,331 had been made.

A 28-year-old man found walking on state Route 21 was stopped by officers Jan. 25. Police discovered the man was wanted in Stark County on a felony warrant. He was turned over to a Stark County sheriff’s deputy.
A man, 25, was charged Jan. 27 with possession of cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon, driving under suspension, illegal plates and having a weapon under disability.
A Haynes Street man, 26, was charged Jan. 24 with possession of chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine.

A Stow Road man, 34, was charged Jan. 21 with domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting a household member.
An Akron man, 22, was charged Jan. 22 with having a weapon while under disability, driving under suspension and carrying a concealed weapon. During a traffic stop on Graham Road, police found a loaded handgun in the vehicle.

A computer and a wallet were taken Jan. 26 from a home in the 4700 block of Haughton Court .
Identity thefts
A Whippoorwill Trail woman reported Jan. 27 someone used her identity to open a PayPal account. A purchase was made from the account but payment was stopped.
A Wrens Circle woman reported Jan. 26 someone used her identity to open a $3,000 account at Check-n-Go. The money was then transferred to a bank in Minnesota.

Police received a report Jan. 22 of a juvenile who sent a text threatening a mass murder spree.

An Akron man, 23, was charged with menacing by stalking and telecommunications harassment on Jan. 16 for an Oct. 20 incident in which he allegedly placed his arm around a woman’s neck at her North Main Street business. Police said he then made repeated unwanted phone calls to the victim.

Eight aluminum forms for concrete worth $1,600 were reported stolen Jan. 24 from Campbell Construction at a job site in the 3900 block of Eastern Road, Chippewa Township.
An air conditioner worth $4,605 was reported Jan. 24 being stolen in December from a residence in the 4100 block of Valley Road, Wooster Township.
