Arrests
An Edgewood Avenue woman, 36, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and having weapons under disability. She was the front-seat passenger in a vehicle stopped for expired plates. Officers said they found a loaded .380 handgun on the floorboard where she was sitting.
A 20-year-old Herberich Avenue man was charged with assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest after officers responded to his address for a domestic violence call. He was found hiding behind a shed, police said, and pushed away from officers and then swung at them during his arrest.
A 25-year-old Barberton man was charged with receiving stolen property after police said he was stopped in a stolen car.
A Fernwood Avenue man, 25, was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. Police said he and another man invaded and ransacked a Safer Plaza home Dec. 1 while holding occupants at gunpoint. He also faces several drug and weapons charges.
A Fifth Street Southwest man, 24, was charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault after police said he and two others assaulted a 55-year-old man at his East Exchange Street home and took $40. In relation to this incident, the man also was charged with willful flee, possession of drugs, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
A Work Drive woman, 18, was charged with tampering with evidence. Police said she took a gun from her brother and attempted to hide it from officers in the trunk of a car.
A North Main Street man, 55, was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business. Police said he fled a traffic stop and upon his arrest was found to be in possession of a MasterCard reported stolen in a robbery.

A West Hopocan Avenue man was jailed Dec. 1 on a charge of domestic violence.
A Pasadena Place boy, 16, was booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center on Dec. 1 on a charge of domestic violence threats after police said he threatened to kill his mother in the presence of officers. He initially had called police because he said he felt he was being abused.
Money scam
An East Ford Avenue resident told police Nov. 21 of a phone call he received from two men purporting to be with the Internal Revenue Service who said he owes $27,010 in taxes from 2005 to 2011. The person suggested making a $10,000 payment and starting a payment plan. The man contacted the IRS, where a spokesperson said the call was a scam that has been occurring frequently.
Thefts
The owner of the Fast Lane Bowling Alley on Wooster Road North told police Nov. 27 that someone used a key to enter the business and take $500 in cash and $1,000 worth of liquor.
A 25th Street Northwest woman said she was moving out of a home on 25th Street Northwest on Nov. 24 and a few days later couldn’t find two rings, total value $800, that had been in a bowl in the bedroom.

A 19-year-old Revere Road man was charged Nov. 28 with domestic violence. His 64-year-old father told police the two were arguing, and when the son threw a glass of soda in his face, the argument became physical. Police determined the son was the primary aggressor.
Seven game consoles were taken from Game Stop, 3763 Medina Road, Nov. 18. Witnesses told police one man distracted the clerk while two others removed the merchandise.

Theft
A couple failed to pay their bill at Wasabi Steak House on Nov. 30. Responding officers took down their license plate number, but the owner said he will not prosecute if they pay their bill of $134.51.
A 74-year-old man had his car stolen Nov. 27 from the parking lot at Baymont Inn & Suites, 70 Rothrock Loop.
Phone harassment
The director of Copley Health Center, 155 Heritage Woods Drive, told police that someone has been making harassing phone calls to the center. She said the threats are directed toward a specific doctor.

A North Turkeyfoot Lake Road woman, 42, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence on Thanksgiving Day. A report said she pushed her boyfriend.
Theft
An East Waterloo Road man told police Nov. 26 that someone entered his rented room and stole a bedroom set, bicycle and karaoke machine, total value $1,250.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
A 25-year-old Clifford Avenue man was charged Dec. 3 with escape. He is accused of not returning to the Cuyahoga Falls jail after receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
A 55-year-old Cedar Hill man was charged Nov. 30 with using a weapon while intoxicated, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying concealed weapons after a traffic stop.

Someone pried open a rear door to gain entrance to Federated Auto Parts, 2990 Oakwood Drive, Nov. 30.
A garage in the 600 block of Washington Avenue was broken into Nov. 30. Tools were taken.
Burglaries
A home in the 3100 block of Charles Street was broken into Dec. 4. Antique coins and jewelry were taken, for a loss of more than $1,200.
Someone broke into a home in the 400 block of Roosevelt Avenue on Nov. 28. Cash and electronics valued at $2,900 were taken.
A home in the 2300 block of Giffels Avenue was broken into Dec. 1. Electronics were taken.

More than $400 was stolen from cafeteria receipts at Bolich Middle School on Dec. 2.
A duffel bag containing clothing and a car key were taken from a locker in the men’s locker room at the Falls Natatorium on Nov. 29.
An East Hunters Lake Drive woman reported Nov. 30 that she was charged $199 for a computer protection plan she bought over the phone from someone posing as a Windows employee.
The executive director of Traditions, 300 E. Bath Road, reported Nov. 26 that between Sept. 1 and Nov. 26, an employee took narcotic pain medicine meant for patients.

Two Akron teens were charged with theft Dec. 1 after police said they tried to steal about $60 worth of jewelry from Spencer’s Gifts in Summit Mall. The suspects, 13 and 14, were released to their mother.
An Akron man was issued a summons for possessing drug paraphernalia Dec. 1. Walmart workers called police because his car looked suspicious in the parking lot.
An Akron woman, 22, was arrested on a theft charge Nov. 29 after police said she stole $123.95 in merchandise from Buckle. Responding officers said they also found tools used for breaking security sensors.

A Medina woman told police Nov. 30 that someone took credit and debit cards from a wallet she left at Macy’s. She has canceled each card.

An 83-year-old Barberton woman reported Dec. 3 that her wallet, containing $160 and credit cards, was stolen while she shopped at Acme Fresh Market, 3200 Greenwich Road.

Police said an Akron man, 38, of Wirth Avenue was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Nov. 18. He is accused of pushing his girlfriend to the ground and grabbing her throat because other bowlers were flirting with her at Bill White’s Akron Lanes on East Waterloo Road.
Telephone harassment
A warrant for telecommunications harassment was issued in mid November for an Oriole Avenue woman, 46, who is accused of sending unwanted text messages to her ex-boyfriend.
Aggravated arson
Police are investigating an arson fire that occurred Nov. 14 in a boys restroom at Springfield High School on Sanitarium Road. Two male students, ages 16 and 17, were questioned about the blaze that caused $2,000 damage to a stall, ceiling and floor.

A thief forced entry into a Fairdale Drive home Nov. 22 and fled with 125 figurines, a video game and other items, total value $900.
Thefts
A computer tablet, tools and other items, total value $910, were taken from a Columbine Avenue home Nov. 25.
A set of antique salt and pepper shakers, total value $2,000, was stolen from a Mohican Boulevard man’s home Nov. 18 along with other items valued at $100.

A 38-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was charged Nov. 30 with theft, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of marijuana after police accused her of shoplifting at Kohl’s, 4240 Kent Road.
Forgery
A company check for more than $11,000 was stolen from National Machine Group/National Aviation, 4880 Hudson Drive. The check was then altered and cashed, according to a Dec. 3 report.
Tampering
Someone forced open a coin machine at the Marriott, 4047 Bridgewater Parkway, between Oct. 24 and Nov. 29 and took an undetermined amount of cash.

Officers were called to St. Albert the Great on Dec. 1 when a vehicle was found stuck in the grass of the baseball field. The vehicle had been turfing the field. The juveniles who were in the car were caught.

Police were called to an apartment complex on Hadcock Road on Dec. 2 after several residents found that someone had tampered with their doors and locks.
Theft
A Center Road business owner called police Nov. 29 to report that someone entered a fenced-in yard and removed 135 recapped truck tires worth $18,000 and loaded them onto a trailer that had 75 truck tire cores worth $5,700. The person then attempted to hot-wire a semi tractor. A second semi was hot-wired and used to remove the trailer filled with the stolen goods.

A desktop computer, a laptop computer and other items, total value $2,038, were taken from a Lasater Avenue Northwest home Nov. 23.

A $2,000 computer owned by Aultman Hospital in Canton was reported stolen Nov. 25 from a locked vehicle parked at an employee’s Lourelton Avenue Northwest home.
Golf clubs valued at $625 were stolen from a woman’s car while parked in the driveway of a Pebblestone Avenue Northwest home.
The owner of Custom Tees at Belden Village Mall told investigators that over the past two months an estimated $3,000 worth of T-shirts and sweatshirts have been stolen from a storage locker.
A $799 cellphone was reported stolen from a salesperson at the Cellaris kiosk in Belden Village Mall on Nov. 20. A witness said a person was standing at the counter near the victim’s phone, which the witness noticed was missing when the person walked away.

An Indian Circle Northwest man, 25, was jailed Nov. 23 on a domestic violence charge after police said he pulled his wife’s hair during an argument.
North Canton

A Sunford Avenue Southeast woman, 53, was jailed Nov. 26 following her arrest at her home on a warrant charging telecommunications harassment.
A Canton woman, 22, of Sixth Street Southeast was arrested at Stark County Family Court on Nov. 25 on a warrant charging complicity in connection with the theft of $958 in merchandise from Gabriel Brothers on Whipple Avenue Northwest in August. Two others previously were arrested.
A 16-year-old Hoover High School student who resides on Tuscarawas Street West in Canton was booked at the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center on Nov. 22 on a charge of illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon. Police said he was carrying a large knife with a 5-inch blade.

A 34th Street Northeast man turned himself in at the Stark County Jail on Nov. 29 on a warrant charging him with felony domestic violence.
A Devon Drive Northeast man, 50, was jailed Nov. 29 on charges of felonious assault of a sheriff’s deputy, menacing, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia when apprehended at Fazoli’s restaurant on Everhard Road Northwest. The arresting officer reported the suspect threatened to kill him and kicked the deputy in the chin with his heel as he was being placed in a cruiser.
A Root Avenue Northeast man, 29, was jailed Nov. 22 on a charge of domestic violence. He is accused of biting his wife’s hand, pushing her down and kicking her, causing visible injuries.

A 14-year-old Pontius Street girl was booked at the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center on a charge of domestic violence Nov. 21 after her mother told police the teen hit her in the arm while driving on Mogadore Avenue.

A Fairchild Circle resident said Nov. 25 that her wallet and gift cards, total value $3,450, were stolen from her car parked in her garage.
Identity fraud
Police are continuing to investigate three cases of felony identity fraud. Authorities said a Wilmont Street Northwest woman reported Nov. 22 that someone obtained her personal information and used new and old credit cards at Kohl’s, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Victoria’s Secret to purchase $5,238 in merchandise between Nov. 13 and Nov. 20. On Nov. 26, a Bowers Street man said a Best Buy account was opened in his name to charge $2,974 between Nov. 11 and Nov. 26. Another Wilmont Street woman said a Best Buy account was opened in her name and was used to charge $1,060 between Nov. 11 and Nov. 22.
