Arrests
A South Hawkins Avenue man, 22, was charged with possessing a weapon illegally, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest. Officers were at Copley Road and Seward Avenue when they heard two gunshots and saw the man throw a gun onto the front seat of a car. Officers said he resisted arrest.
A Caroline Court man, 22, was charged with possessing a weapon illegally, carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property after police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 800 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard. Officers reported finding two loaded guns — one stolen — under the passenger-side carpet.
An Akron man, 23, was charged with failure to comply during a traffic violation on Eastwood Avenue. As officers approached, he tried to drive off, but struck another vehicle. The crash disabled his vehicle.
A Cramer Avenue woman, 55, was charged with illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine, assembly of chemicals, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia at her home.
An Olive Street man, 47, was charged with possession of crack, theft and obstructing official business. Police reported finding him hiding behind a wall when they responded to the 600 block of North Main Street for a report of scrap thieves.
A Kryder Avenue man, 37, was charged with two counts of burglary after he allegedly broke into two houses on Brown Street.
A Barberton man, 22, of Belleview Avenue, was charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after he allegedly removed copper pipes from a vacant house on Leonora Avenue.
A Woodland Avenue man, 35, was charged with forgery and theft after he allegedly charged $237 on a business account for personal use and forged someone else’s name.

A Seventh Street Northwest man, 42, was charged with domestic violence and disrupting public services after a woman was found beaten at Fifth Street and Hopocan Avenue Northwest. She was treated at Summa Barberton Hospital.
A Madison Avenue boy, 17, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 20 after he allegedly attacked his sister, struggled with police and said he was going to kill his sibling.
A Sylvester Street boy, 15, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 22 after he allegedly hit his sister several times in the head.
A man, 32, and woman, 27, both of West Park Avenue, were charged with burglary Oct. 21.
Burglary
Items totaling $900, including a $400 television set, were reported stolen Oct. 23 from a South Van Buren Avenue residence.
An East Tuscarawas Avenue man told police Oct. 22 that someone stole $4,200 worth of $100 bills and quarters from a dresser drawer.

Disorderly conduct
Police broke up a fight Oct. 27 between two couples at the Holiday Inn, 4073 Medina Road. Witnesses said the two women started fighting on a party bus in Akron over a Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry. They were still fighting when they got to the hotel. One man was transported to Akron General Medical Center West for a cut to the head. Police said the couples gave conflicting statements.

A Wyoga Lake Road woman, 52, was charged with aggravated menacing Oct. 30 after she allegedly threatened another woman with a knife.
Felonious assault
A Euclid woman, 50, told police someone fired several shots at her car as she drove north on state Route 8 near Hudson Drive at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 29. One bullet shattered her front window, but the woman was not injured.
A Clyde Avenue man, 19, reported Oct. 30 that a man walked up to him on Riverfront Parkway and doused him in pepper spray. He was treated at a local hospital.
Aggravated robbery
A Munroe Falls woman told police Oct. 30 that her son, 13, was robbed at gunpoint in the 800 block of Clover Avenue by a teen he knows.
Burglary
An apartment in the 2100 block of Front Street was broken into Oct. 29, but nothing appeared to be taken.
Identity theft
A 13th Street couple reported Oct. 28 that someone made nearly $1,500 in unauthorized charges to a bank card stolen from their vehicle a few days earlier at Summa Western Reserve Hospital, 1900 Second St.
Theft
A promotional board valued at $250 was stolen Oct. 25-28 from in front of Red Fish Promotions, 149 Portage Trail.
Copley Township
Arrests
A Copley man, 20, was charged with driving under the influence Oct. 24 after he allegedly lost control of his vehicle, struck a mailbox and crashed into a utility pole.
Suspicious needle
An man placed a syringe, without the needle, under a front tire of a Honda Pilot on Oct. 23. He then left the area. Police checked the syringe for any contaminants but found none.

A homeless man, 30, was charged with felony theft Oct. 21 after he allegedly received $4,000 to do work at a residence but did not do the job.
Burglary
Someone smashed a door window at a Shook Road home Oct. 18 and stole a .22-caliber firearm, TV and other items, total value $2,715.

A homeless man, 25, was charged with criminal trespassing, aggravated menacing, criminal damaging and obstructing official business Oct. 30 after he got in a dispute with the manager of Subway on West Market Street. Police subdued him after he allegedly became violent. He was transported to the Summit County Jail.
A Copley boy, 17, was charged with shoplifting Oct. 29 after he allegedly stole a $9.99 necklace from Spencer’s gifts in Summit Mall.
An Akron man, 23, was charged with theft, misrepresenting his identity, and obstructing official business Oct. 29 after he allegedly stole $150 in merchandise from Foot Locker. He initially gave officers a false name.
An Akron woman, 20, was charged with theft Oct. 27 after she allegedly stole $284 in jewelry from Dillard’s.

A Mayfair Road man, 31, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 19 after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend at their home.

A computer monitor, hard drive, printer, answering machine and other items were reported stolen Oct. 21 from a Beacon Journal distribution center on Corporate Woods Parkway.

A handgun was reported missing Oct. 16 from a South Arlington Road apartment.

A Laurel Lake Drive resident reported an identity theft incident Oct. 23.
Juveniles
Three youths, all 17, were pulled over in a speeding car on Herrick Park Drive. Police reported finding alcohol and drugs on the juveniles. They were turned over to their parents.
Theft
A woman reported Oct. 24 that her purse was stolen as she shopped at Jo-Ann Fabrics, 5381 Darrow Road. The purse was found in the back of the store. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Mogadore
Arrests
A Mogadore man, 50, was charged with drunken driving Oct. 26 after his vehicle went left of center and nearly hit a police cruiser on Marion Avenue.
An Akron man, 35, was charged with three felony counts of burglary involving break-ins Oct. 5-15 on Louise Street, South Cleveland Avenue and Argonne Street. Jewelry and electronics, total value $30,000, were taken.

A Clinton woman, 24, was charged with possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments, and driving with a suspended license Oct. 26 after a traffic stop on state Route 21 at Wadsworth Road. Police reported finding suspected heroin and two syringes under the driver’s seat.

Police found two bottles filled with waste from methamphetamine production on state Route 21 at the Interstate 76 overpass after receiving a tip from a passer-by.

A Walmart worker, 22, of Buchtel Avenue, Akron was charged with felony theft Oct. 14 when he reported to work following a police investigation into the theft of 23 computers and cellphones.
Domestic violence
An Akron man, 26, of Clifford Avenue, was wanted on a warrant alleging domestic violence and aggravated menacing after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman at her Lavada Drive home in the presence of her son, 3.
Rape
A Ravenna woman, 20, told police that a man sexually assaulted her Oct. 9 while she was a guest at a home on Kubler Trail.
Breaking and entering
A furnace and 140 feet of copper pipe were reported stolen Oct. 18 from a Columbine Avenue house.
Thefts
An Akron woman told police Oct. 23 that she purchased items at Pet Supplies Plus on East Waterloo Road and left before noticing that her purse, cash and other items, total value $2,709, were missing.
An Akron man said he was at Denny’s restaurant on South Arlington Road Oct. 13 when he noticed upon leaving that someone had broken a window of his car and removed a $500 handbag and contents.

An East Avenue man, 45, was charged with abduction, domestic violence and aggravated menacing Oct. 30 after he allegedly refused to let a woman, 37, leave her apartment for two weeks, repeatedly beat her and threatened to kill her. She escaped and ran to a neighbor’s home where police were called. The man was found hiding under a pickup in the driveway.

Police found the remains of a portable methamphetamine lab while checking suspicious trash bags Oct. 27 behind Midway Plaza at Brittain Road.
Theft
A woman told police Oct. 25 that someone posing as a customer entered her East Avenue shop, distracted her and took $600 from her purse.

Unruly man
Police were called Oct. 29 to the Quality Inn on South Carpenter Road for a report of a male refusing to leave. Police found him in a parking lot, yelling obscenities. The man was arrested.

Suspicious person
Police were called to a coin laundry Oct 26 on West Smith Road after a man walked in and began acting “strangely.” Officers asked the caller why he felt the other man was acting strangely. “He advised he did not know, just that he felt uncomfortable,” the officer reported. The “suspicious” man checked out OK.

Loggers discovered that a tractor wire harness had been cut Oct. 30 on Old Weymouth Road. Neighbors are not happy with cutting of trees. One later admitted to cutting the wires.

The Medina Christian Academy called police Oct. 28 to complain that motorists are cutting across its parking lot to avoid road construction.

A Canton woman, 20, of 41st Street Northeast, was charged with felony theft Oct. 18 after she allegedly left Burlington Coat Factory on Everhard Road Northwest with a cart filled with $1,000 in unpaid clothing.
Thefts
A $7,000 trash compactor owned by the Slesnick Co. of Third Street Southeast, Canton, was reported stolen Oct. 21 from behind the World Market on Dressler Road Northwest.
Eight heavy chains and eight binders, total value $600, were reported stolen Oct. 20 from a company vehicle parked at Industrial Parts & Services on Promler Avenue Northwest.

A Timberview Street Northeast woman, 23, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 18 after she allegedly struck her live-in boyfriend in the face with the handle of a baseball bat.

A Manchester Road man, 23, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 20 after he allegedly threatened his girlfriend and her family, and waved a gun near their baby. Police secured the baby and found the unloaded weapon in an upstairs bedroom.
A Manchester Road man, 26, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 23 after he allegedly slammed a door on the arm of the mother of his child.
A Lake Township man, 19, of Stone Acre Street Northwest, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 21 after he allegedly threw his girlfriend on a bed and choked her.
A Perry Township man, 25, was arrested on a warrant alleging telecommunications harassment.
North Canton

An Akron man, 43, of Kingsley Avenue, was charged with impersonating a peace officer, tampering with evidence, theft and obstructing official business Oct. 21. Police said he stole items at Tractor Supply on Whipple Avenue Northwest, then waited for a second man at a Get Go station where he told police he was an undercover DEA agent and an Akron narcotics officer. An Akron man, 45, of Colonial Hills Drive, was charged with taking $316 in goods from Tractor Supply.

Gasoline and equipment, total value $2,533, were reported stolen from sheds Oct. 15-16 at the First Friends Church on Market Avenue North.

A woman, 23, told police Oct. 22 that her ex-boyfriend broke into her apartment in the 1000 block of Mindy Lane and punched her in the stomach.
