Arrests
A West Miller Avenue man, 25, was charged with aggravated menacing and possessing a weapon illegally. Police said the man pointed a shotgun at another man during a fight.
A Columbus Avenue man, 53, was charged with domestic violence with a previous conviction. Police said that on Aug. 29 he and his girlfriend got into an argument over missing cellphones. The man choked her and hit her in the face.
A North Howard Street man, 22, was charged with domestic violence with a previous conviction. Police said the man and his girlfriend got into an argument over personal issues when he began assaulting her. He shoved her into the wall, causing bruises on her chest and thighs.
A Grant Street man, 45, was charged with robbery. Police said he became upset with a woman over money. He started screaming at her then slammed her into a car door. He punched her in the face and took her cellphone.
A 25-year-old man from Glenmont in Holmes County and a 54-year-old man from Smithville were charged with possession of heroin after a traffic stop in the 200 block of South Rhodes Avenue.
A Streetsboro woman, 18, was charged with possession of heroin after a traffic stop on Interstate 77 at the Vernon Odom Boulevard exit. A Streetsboro man, 24, was charged with possession of heroin and other drug offenses in the same incident.
A Wooster man, 25, was charged with possession of heroin and other drug offenses after police spotted him in a car parked in a closed lot.
A Northwest Avenue man, 33, was charged with possession of heroin and other drug offenses after a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Howard Street.

Police jailed a 22nd Street Northwest man, 19, on a charge of domestic violence Aug. 24 after police said he pushed his father and hit him in the head.
A 37-year-old 25th Street Northwest man was arrested on a charge of domestic violence threats Aug. 23 after his mother said he grabbed a baseball bat and held it up and asked if she would like it shoved up her nose or her ankles broken.
Breaking and entering
Police were investigating a break-in at a vacant Benton Street rental home Aug. 28 from where 151 feet of copper tubing and a brass water faucet, total value $840, were stolen.
Menacing warrant
A College Street resident told police Aug. 25 that she had received two letters in August from her ex-boyfriend, who is incarcerated at Marion Correctional Institute. Because she has a protection order against him, police said warrants were prepared charging him with menacing by stalking and violation of the protection order.
Thefts
A 25th Street Northwest man told police Aug. 23 that his 1924 eight-piece silverware set, total value $9,000, was stolen out of his unattached garage.
Two laptop computers, electronic game systems and other items, total value $1,680, were stolen from a Van Street home while the owner was visiting a friend Aug. 22.

Arrest
A 33-year-old woman was charged Tuesday with assault and aggravated trespassing. She is accused of assaulting her 58-year-old mother-in-law.
Copley Township
Arrest
A township woman, 33, was arrested Aug. 25 for having an active warrant through the Walton Hills Police Department. She had initially called police because her three children were disobeying her. When officers arrived, she was arrested.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
A 46-year-old Akron man was charged Thursday with burglary and breaking and entering. He is accused of breaking into a West Steels Corners Road home by breaking a window with a rock. He is also accused of breaking into the unattached garage.
A 27-year-old New York man was charged Tuesday with felony theft. He is accused of opening a fraudulent credit-card account at Best Buy, 445 Howe Ave., to purchase two computers and a remote control.
A 26-year-old Anderson Road man was charged Monday with possession of heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments.
A 26-year-old Hazel Street woman was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of heroin. She was arrested in the 400 block of Howe Avenue.
Burglary
Two apartments in the 1800 block of Second Street were burglarized Tuesday. Two rings valued at $500 were taken from one. A television valued at $50 was taken from the second.
Thefts
Nine empty bread racks belonging to Schwebel’s were stolen between Aug. 30 and 31. The racks are valued at $150 each.
A Crest Avenue man reported Sept. 1 that his medication was stolen from a lock box in his home.
Fairlawn
Arrests
An Akron woman, 45, was arrested on theft charges Tuesday. She allegedly stole a ring from the Pandora store in Summit Mall. Security personnel caught her in the act when they later reviewed the security footage from that evening. The ring was worth $80.
A Ravenna man, 34, was arrested on theft charges Wednesday. He tried to steal $233 worth of merchandise from Walmart. Security noticed him when he tried to walk out of the store with his cart loaded with merchandise. He is banned from Walmart.
Dispatchers responded to a Fairlawn man, 28, assaulting his live-in girlfriend. He was arrested for possession of marijuana. Eventually, it was discovered he was not competent, and was sent to the St. Thomas Emergency Department.
An Akron man, 54, was arrested for resisting arrest and theft charges. He allegedly tried to steal a cart full of merchandise from Walmart on Sept. 1. There was a brief foot chase but officers eventually caught the suspect.

An Akron man told deputies Aug. 28 that his unlocked vehicle was entered while parked on Mayfair Road. A socket wrench set, GPS unit, cash and an iPad were stolen.
On Aug. 27, a computer and combination TV/DVD player, total value $1,000, were stolen from an unlocked sport utility vehicle on Massillon Road.
Springfield Township
Arrest
A Lakemore resident, 41, of Ackers Avenue, was jailed on a charge of felony domestic violence Aug. 28 after police said he grabbed and pushed his girlfriend.
Breaking and entering
The owner of a Meadow Spring Circle rental residence told police Aug. 21 that the home was entered by force and tools and other items, total value $1,000, were stolen.
Burglary
Three bracelets and five rings, total value $946, were listed as stolen from a Krumroy Road home Aug. 26.

A 32-year-old Hanson Avenue man was arrested Aug. 30 on warrants for rape and domestic violence for a May 14 incident.
Child pornography
Police are investigating a report Wednesday of child pornography found on a computer.
Drugs
The custodial staff at Holy Family School, 3163 Kent Road, reported finding a black nylon attache containing needles, spoons and other items used to inject drugs. The bag was turned over to police.

Dogs stolen
Three dogs were taken from a Newton Street fenced-in yard between 1 and 2:30 a.m. Sept. 1. Police responding to a call from the dogs’ owner found a nylon strip holding the gate closed had been cut, along with a strap inside the fence. On the ground near the fence, the owner found a different brand of dog food than he uses. The dogs are Jake, a male Labrador, black with a white stripe on his chest; Jayda, a female chocolate lab with a white stripe on her chest; and Layla, a blonde, long-haired sheltie. All of the dogs weigh about 25 pounds.

A 22-year-old Mogadore woman was arrested Aug. 30 on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine from Stark County.
A 38-year-old Akron woman was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, endangering children and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle. Her passenger was charged with having an open container. Police stopped the vehicle at Tallmadge Circle. Two children were in the backseat.
A 25-year-old Bronson Drive man was charged Sept. 1 with domestic violence.
Burglary
A North Thomas Road woman reported Sept. 1 she was upstairs watching movies with friends when she heard noises. She went downstairs to investigate and saw three men running from the apartment. Her television was taken. Blood was found near a broken window.
Felonious assault
A 22-year-old woman reported Aug. 29 she awoke to find her child’s father punching her boyfriend in the head. Her boyfriend was treated at an area hospital. Police are investigating.

Arrest
A Cathedral Circle resident, 31, was jailed Aug. 26 on warrants for aggravated arson, illegal manufacture of drugs, having chemicals for drug manufacturing, endangering children, tampering with evidence and domestic violence. He was arrested by Massillon police and jailed by Canal Fulton police.
Jackson Township
Arrests
A South Boulevard Northwest man, 25, was jailed Aug. 28 on a charge of domestic violence after police said he entered his apartment and began breaking property with a tire iron, causing the female victim to feel threatened. Officers said he told them he wanted to kill her.
A Massillon man, 44, of Wallace Avenue Southeast, was arrested in the 6800 block of Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest on Aug. 28 on a Jackson police warrant for passing bad checks.
A warrant for telecommunications harassment led to the jailing Aug. 26 of an Akron man, 64, of Brittain Road after he was initially arrested by Akron police.
Burglary
A purse and contents and an iPad, total value $1,106, were reported stolen Aug. 26 from a kitchen island of a Cliffside Avenue Northwest home.
Thefts
A $500 purse and contents were reported stolen Aug. 27 from a car at the Yoga Place on Whipple Avenue Northwest. Four days earlier, a North Canton woman said her purse, contents and cellphone were stolen from her vehicle.
Someone stole a smartphone on display at the AT&T kiosk in the Westfield Belden Village Mall shortly before 9 p.m. Aug. 21. The phone was valued at $614.

A Canton man, 27, of 22nd Street Northeast, was jailed on an aggravated menacing warrant after he turned himself in to North Canton police Aug. 27.
Police jailed a Canal Fulton woman, 43, of Colony Street on Aug. 27 on warrant charges of felony burglary, assault, telecommunications harassment and menacing.

An Orchardale Drive Northwest man, 34, was jailed on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and aggravated burglary after another couple in the apartment complex was stabbed several times Aug. 27. Sheriff George Maier said deputies arrived and subdued the suspect after the male victim hit the suspect in the head with a large rock during the chase from the apartment into the street.
A 35th Street Northeast man, 29, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Aug. 27 after police said he punched his girlfriend and damaged a vehicle by intentionally striking it with his vehicle, deputies said.
A Root Avenue Northeast woman, 45, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Aug. 25 after she gave a taped statement to a deputy regarding an incident.

Animal cruelty
Officers were called Sept. 1 to Stoney Brook Lane after receiving a complaint about two dogs being left in a vehicle for more than an hour. The owner told officers that he would take the pets out of the car. After receiving a second call that the animals were still in the car, officers charged the Parma man with cruelty to animals.
Disorderly conduct
A man called police Tuesday to report that he was being chased through the Inner Circle parking lot by his intoxicated brother. When officers caught up with the men, they said the fight was over their “living conditions.” One brother was cited for disorderly conduct.

A Brimfield Drive resident called police Wednesday to report that someone had thrown two bags of trash in the backyard.
Citizen assist
Officers assisted a resident Wednesday on Highland Drive whose wheelchair battery had run down. They pushed the resident back to an apartment.
Fight
Police were called to a Foundry Street residence Thursday for a 32-year-old “disrespecting his mother.”
Medina Township
Theft
A Medina Road business called police Aug. 28 to complain that a man had returned to the store and stole alcohol. The man, who was later arrested at the Rodeway Inn, is suspected of stealing alcohol over several days from the store.
Neighbor dispute
A Marks Road resident called police Aug. 29 to complain that a neighbor swore at her son. There is a restraining order already filed against the neighbor.

Theft
A Stillwood Drive resident called police Tuesday to report that someone had stolen a mini fridge from their patio.
Vandalism
Two Montville Lakes Boulevard residents complained to police of fruit-related vandalism to their homes. One resident complained that someone threw apples at their home. A second homeowner complained that someone had stripped two pear trees of their fruit and smashed some pears on windows.

Child endangering
Police received a report Thursday of a small child walking down Fairlawn Avenue unsupervised. The toddler was found and returned to his home.

Arrests
A 25-year-old Lake Street woman is charged with aggravated robbery, robbery and assault on a police officer. Police said the woman was trying to take a set of keys from another woman outside the 100 block of Main Street. As police attempted to arrest the woman, she twice tried to grab an officer’s gun, according to police.
A Wickliffe man was arrested Thursday on charges of trafficking in marijuana, possession of criminal tools, and a minor traffic violation.
A 25-year-old West Elm Street woman was charged Monday with possession of heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments.
A Lawrence Drive man was arrested Wednesday on a charge of domestic violence.

A video game system and games were taken from a residence in the 1100 block of Silver Meadows Boulevard on Tuesday.
