Summit County

Akron

Arrests

An Aqueduct Street man, 24, was charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault after he allegedly pistol whipped a man, kicked him several times, then pointed the revolver and threatened to shoot him if he didn’t give him his property.

A North Main Street man, 48, was charged with burglary and possessing criminal tools after police reported seeing him walking inside a house with a flashlight. Officers recovered a duffel bag containing pipe cutters, screwdrivers, gloves, a utility knife, backpacks, a flashlight and pliers.

A Neville Avenue man, 33, was charged with willful fleeing, drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, obstructing police business and criminal damaging. He allegedly led police on a car chase, ran from the vehicle and resisted arrest.

A Roslyn Avenue man, 27, was charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly stole a woman’s wedding ring while he was a guest in her home. Cashland provided computer printouts of the man pawning the ring, as well as photos of the ring.

A Theodore Street man, 39, and a Victory Street man, 27, were charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools. The younger man was also charged with drug possession. Police said the two entered a vacant property on Lakeshore Boulevard to remove scrap metal. The older man had a pocket knife. The younger man had vice grips and marijuana.

Barberton

Arrests

A man, 23, and a woman, 20, both of West Ford Avenue, were arrested after a cash box containing $120 was stolen from a vendor at the Barberton Farmers’ Market at West Tuscarawas Avenue and Third Street Northwest on Aug. 21. The man was charged with theft. The woman was charged with obstructing official business.

A Romig Avenue man, 46, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 16 after he and his girlfriend fought over living arrangements.

A Noble Street man, 31, was arrested Aug. 17 on a felony forgery warrant.

An Ashland Court man, 33, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 15 after he allegedly grabbed a stick and chased his girlfriend.

Burglary

Someone broke into a Creedmore Avenue home Aug. 15 and stole antique silverware, DVDs and CDs, total value $2,590.

Thefts

Two nail guns, tools and other items, total value $800, were reported stolen Aug. 19 outside a Wooster Road North home.

Two electronic game systems and other items, total value $2,650, were stolen Aug. 17 from a Fifth Street Northwest man’s home.

Bath Township

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into a trailer Aug. 26 behind Appliance Warehouse, 186 N. Cleveland-Massillon Road, and stole used appliances.

Theft

A Bath Road woman reported Aug. 26 that her ex-boyfriend took personal and household items from her home.

Coventry Township

Arrest

A Linda Street man, 23, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 25 after he allegedly injured a sibling.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

A Cortland man, 56, and his son, 25, were charged with obstructing official business Aug. 26. The father also was charged with falsification. They are accused of giving false information to a Cuyahoga Falls prosecutor and a police officer regarding a traffic crash.

Assault

An Overbrook Road man, 63, reported Aug. 26 that a man assaulted him at the Natatorium. He said the man pushed him against an exercise machine after a quarrel over another machine.

Burglary

Someone looted a home Aug. 25 in the 1500 block of Sixth Street and stole about $2,000 in property.

Theft

A purse was stolen from a vehicle parked Aug. 25 at Outback Steakhouse, 738 Howe Ave.

Green

Forgery

Warrants were issued for a man accused of stealing checks from an East Turkeyfoot Lake Road company. The suspect allegedly admitting cashing three checks totaling $1,617.

Mogadore

Drug arrest

Officers responded to a report of a drug overdose Aug. 24 on South Cleveland Avenue. A man was found unconscious. A woman at the home told officers she had swallowed a bag of heroin in a panic as officers arrived. She was also taken to the hospital.

Theft

A North Cleveland Avenue resident reported the theft of an extension ladder, four gas cans and a propane tank Aug. 23.

New Franklin

Arrest

A Manchester Road man, 58, was jailed for domestic violence Aug. 18 after his wife told authorities he was throwing items around the house during an argument.

Forgery

A West Turkeyfoot Lake Road resident told police Aug. 20 that 11 checks totaling $1,700 were stolen, and four or five checks valued at $750 total were stolen from her daughter’s purse and forged.

Norton

Arrests

An Akron man, 21, was charged with felony drug possession and driving with a suspended license Aug. 26 after police reported finding methamphetamine during a traffic stop at Barber Road and Interstate 76.

Assault

A Watkins Road man, 56, reported Aug. 25 he was assaulted by a 37-year-old man in his home.

Theft

A Fairland Road man reported Aug. 26 his medication was stolen from his mailbox between Aug. 22 and 26.

Springfield Township

Arrests

A Mohican Boulevard woman, 63, was charged with felony domestic violence Aug. 19 after she allegedly attacked her daughter and granddaughter with two knives.

A Sadler Street man, 33, was charged with domestic violence and endangering children Aug. 21 after he allegedly grabbed and squeezed the face of an 11-month-old baby and pushed her back in her crib.

A Tallmadge man, 41, of Eastwood Avenue, was charged with felony burglary, misdemeanor menacing and criminal trespassing when arrested on warrants at his home Aug. 18.

Breaking and entering

An $820 radar gun was reported stolen Aug. 17 from Spano Dome on Pressler Road.

Burglary

Someone pried open a safe Aug. 17 at an Armil Drive home and stole $6,000 in contents Aug. 17. Two gun cases were found in a nearby yard.

Theft

Someone stole 13,000 pounds of scrap valued at $1,300 from a bin at AA Blueprint on Gilchrist Road, police were told Aug. 21.

Tallmadge

Arrests

A Waterford Way man, 21, was arrested Aug. 29 on warrants alleging theft and misuse of credit cards.

A South Thomas Road woman, 39, was charged with assault Aug. 29 after she allegedly assaulted a member of her household.

Cuyahoga County

North Royalton

Fight

Officers were called to the Pine Forest Apartments on Aug. 23 for a report of two juveniles fighting while someone was recording the altercation on video. The fight reportedly was viewed on Facebook messages. One of the juveniles was taken to a hospital.

Theft

Giant Eagle reported a shoplifter Aug. 24. Security “recognized the subject from previous thefts at other Giant Eagle stores.” The person attempted to exit the store with a cart full of baby formula, dog food and other items worth more than $1,000.

False report

A woman walked into the police station Aug. 27 to retract her previous statement that resulted in her husband being arrested on a domestic violence charge the previous week. She was charged with falsification.

Brunswick

Disorderly conduct

A man was observed Aug. 24 urinating on the receiving dock at Home Depot on Center Ridge Road. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Medina

Fight

Police were called to Medina High School for a report of a fight Aug. 28. One student was taken into custody.

Vandalism

A renter on Tremain Place called police to report that an automated garage door that was not working was found open. The belt drive was off the track and hanging. Tenants believe the landlord’s boyfriend may have forced the door open to retrieve a tractor.

Medina Township

Theft

A Walmart employee was charged with theft from the store Aug. 23.

Stolen car

A Granger Road woman told police Aug. 28 to call off a search for her stolen car. She discovered that a 16-year-old drove the car without permission and crashed it on the way to school. She did not want to press charges.

Montville Township

Neighbor dispute

A Torington Drive woman called police Aug. 24 to report that a neighbor swore at her and threatened her dog. She said the neighbor told her that if she brought the dog outside again,“he knows people and she would not like what happens.” Since the neighbor’s threat was vague, police advised him to not have any more communications with his neighbors.

Wadsworth

Arrests

Two women, ages 29 and 21, and a juvenile were charged with receiving stolen property Aug. 25. They are accused of having merchandise stolen from Walmart, 222 E. Smokerise Drive.

A Mills Street man, 35, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 28.

Theft

A trailer valued at $3,000 and a license plate were stolen Aug. 21-26 from the 800 block of Broad Street.

Utility theft

Police were investigating an Aug. 28 report of a West Bergey Street resident stealing cable TV service.

Arrest

A Cathedral Circle woman, 26, was arrested Aug. 21 on warrants containing felony charges of aggravated arson, illegal manufacture of drugs, assembly or possession of chemicals for making drugs and endangering children.

Jackson Township

Arrests

An Amherst Road Northwest woman, 40, was arrested Aug. 21 on warrants of felony menacing by stalking and criminal trespass after police said she was found in a crawl space in the roof of her residence.

A Daytona Street Northwest man, 31, was arrested Aug. 20 at home on warrants charging domestic violence and obstructing official business.

Breaking and entering

A rock was used to break a small basement window at a Sandbrook Street Northwest home Aug. 19, allowing a thief to unlatch a door and steal a large TV set and wall mount bracket, total value $824.

Miscellaneous car parts, total value $2,000, were stolen Aug. 15 during a break-in at Top Value Car & Truck Service on Whipple Avenue Northwest.

Identity theft

A Fleetwood Avenue Northwest woman told police Aug. 21 that someone used an automatic withdrawal to take $564 from her bank account.

Thefts

A Minnesota truck driver said someone stole his $500 cellphone while he was showering Aug. 20 at the Travel Centers of America truck stop on Portage Street Northwest.

A Lima man reported Aug. 18 that someone stole a $2,000 generator from his truck bed while he was at the Red Roof Inn on Inn Circle Northwest in Belden Village.

Jewelry valued at $15,500 was reported stolen Aug. 15 from a Glengarry Street Northwest home.

Lake Township

Arrests

A Cleveland Avenue Northwest woman, 28, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 18 after she allegedly punched her boyfriend in the face and tried to push him down the stairs.

An Akron man, 23, of Alphada Avenue, was arrested Aug. 17 on felony forgery and theft warrants in the 8100 block of Cleveland Avenue Northwest.

North Canton

Arrest

A Portage Street Northwest man, 20, was charged with felony receiving stolen property, two counts of criminal trespass and one count of petty theft Aug. 23 after police reported finding items stolen from vehicles throughout the city’s northwest section.

Theft

Police were told Aug. 17 that someone stole two credit cards, cash and a laptop, total value $820, from a South Main Street apartment.

Plain Township

Arrests

An Orchardale Drive Northwest man, 22, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 17 after he allegedly choked, slapped and head-butted his girlfriend at their home.

A 31st Street Northeast man, 52, was charged with three counts of breaking and entering and two counts of theft Aug. 20.

A Lesh Road Northeast man, 25, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 17 after he allegedly threw his girlfriend to the ground in an quarrel.

A Roosevelt Avenue Northeast man, 59, was charged with robbery Aug. 16 in an incident at 62 Drive Thru on Harrisburg Road Northeast. Deputies said he didn’t have enough money to purchase beer, so he followed a female clerk into the cooler, then tried to take beer and threatened to harm her before he fled.

Uniontown

Arrest

A Lisbon man, 32, was arrested by Columbiana County authorities and turned over to Uniontown police Aug. 22 on a menacing warrant.

Burglary

A Hampshire Circle resident told police Aug. 18 that jewelry valued at $10,000 was stolen from the home.

Portage County

Kent

Arrests

A Ravenna man, 24, was charged with felonious assault and violating a probation order Aug. 30.

A man, 21, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 28.

Breaking and entering

Kent State police charged three students, ages 21 and 22, with breaking and entering Aug. 28.

Burglary

Someone broke into a home Aug. 29 in the 300 block of Dale Drive and stole nearly $900 in property, including a television and video game system. The day before, two televisions, total value $700, were taken from a home in the 1600 block of Olympus Drive.

Wayne County

Wayne sheriff

Arrests

A Massillon man, 35, and a Flint, Mich., man, 37, were charged with breaking and entering, theft, criminal tools and vandalism Aug. 28 after they allegedly took scrap metal and tools from a shed at 2532 S. Apple Creek Road, owned by Apple Creek village.

An Apple Creek man, a Smithville woman and a Wooster woman were arrested Aug. 24 on warrants at a camping trailer. Deputies believed they uncovered a methamphetamine lab when they served the warrants. No charges were filed on drug violations.

Breaking and entering

An East Union Township man reported Aug. 22 that thieves fled from his home in the 5800 block of Ely Road, East Union Township.

Burglaries

A television and coins, total value $1,100, were reported stolen Aug. 27 from a home in the 3600 block of Sylvan Road, Wooster Township.

A safe containing jewelry, cash and five certificates of deposit, total value $8,850, was stolen Aug. 23 from a home in the 100 block of North West Lebanon Road, Sugar Creek Township.

A Wii game system, jewelry and a computer, total value $401, were reported taken Aug. 28 from a home in the 9400 block of McFadden Road, Clinton Township.

Disrupting public service

A Wooster Township woman, 41, reported Aug. 28 that her daughter attacked her as she left a home in the 1000 block of Madison Avenue with her granddaughter.

Weapons under disability

A North Ridgeville man, 37, allegedly pointed a gun Aug. 25 at Dragway 42, 9161 Rainbow Highway, Congress Township during an event. The man, a convicted felon, reportedly pulled the gun during a fight with his brother.

Thefts

A 1997 Ford valued at $1,000 was reported stolen Aug. 26 from a residence in the 1700 block of Portage Road, Wayne Township.

A 2001 Ford pickup truck valued at $2,000 was reported taken Aug. 25 from a home in the 3200 block of West Britton Road, Congress Township.

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked pickup truck Aug. 23 in the 100 block of West Middle St., Burbank.

Tools valued at $3,335 were reported stolen Aug. 22 from a home in the 14700 block of Oak Grove Drive, Chippewa Township.

A mountain bike worth $100 was reported stolen Aug. 26 from a home in the 14700 block of Oak Grove Drive, Chippewa Township.

Wooster

Arrests

A Wooster man, 28, was charged with drug possession Aug. 26 after police reported finding him with heroin and drug paraphernalia at a home in the 700 block of Hamilton Avenue.

Two Wooster men, 19 and 18, were charged with breaking and entering and criminal trespass Aug. 26 after police reported seeing them climbing a fire escape at Everything Rubbermaid and PNC bank in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

Breaking and entering

On Aug. 27, a resident reported $12 was taken from an unlocked car in the 1500 block of Burbank Road.

A window was reported broken Aug. 24 at Wayne County Rubber, 1205 E. Bowman St., but nothing was taken.

Burglaries

A laptop computer and children’s money earned during the summer, total value $1,430, were reported stolen Aug. 27 from a home in the 1600 block of Christmas Run Boulevard.

An Xbox valued at $200 was reported stolen Aug. 21 from a home in the 600 block of East South Street.

Thefts

Two checks and a tax refund, total value $1,502, were reported forged and deposited at Commercial Savings Bank, 305 W. Liberty St.

Household items valued at $1,801 were reported stolen Aug. 23 from Walmart at 3883 Burbank Road.

Percocet tablets were reported stolen Aug. 23 from a home in the 400 block of Palmer Street.

Vandalism

Graffiti was sprayed Aug. 24 on buildings at Christmas Run Park, 700 N. Grant St., causing $700 in damage.
