An East Tallmadge Avenue man, 43, was charged with domestic violence and felonious assault after he came home and found another man talking to the mother of his child. The man went into the house, got a knife and stabbed the other man several times, police said.
A West Lowell Avenue man, 28, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly punched and struck the mother of his child in the face several times after finding suspicious phone numbers on her cellphone. Police said he had a previous conviction for domestic violence.
A Nathan Street man, 27, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly threw three dishes and a phone at his mother, striking her in the back. Police said he had a prior conviction for domestic violence.
A Tampa Avenue man, 37, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly grabbed his stepdaughter and threw her on the ground.
A Moore Street man, 26, was charged with felony domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted his child’s mother.
A Dudley Street man, 26, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, trafficking, tampering with drugs, drug abuse and driving under suspension following a traffic stop at East Archwood Avenue and Coventry Street. Police reported finding marijuana in the man’s pocket and a gun in the car. The man’s driver’s license was suspended.
A Copley man, 24, of Denise Drive, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and mishandling a firearm in a motor vehicle. Police said the man was a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation in the 400 block of Beechwood Drive. He had a loaded gun in his pocket.
A Seward Avenue man, 35, and a West Thornton Street man, 35, were charged with carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. The West Thornton Street man also was charged with possessing a weapon illegally. A loaded gun was found in the glove box.
A Mull Avenue man, 40, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and drug abuse of marijuana after he allegedly tried to carjack two drivers at North Main and Olive streets.
A Callis Drive man, 29, was charged with felonious assault and obstructing official business after he allegedly entered an apartment on Callis Drive and hit the resident in the mouth with the barrel of a small handgun.
A Good Park Boulevard man, 24, was charged with burglary, assault and criminal damaging after he allegedly entered a woman’s apartment through an unlocked door and assaulted her.
A Moon Street woman, 33, was charged with drug trafficking and possessing drugs after police reported seeing her make a drug deal in a parking lot on Britain Road.
A South Arlington Street man, 23, was charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after he allegedly entered a business through a hole in the wall.
A 13th Street Southwest man, 36, and a Shady Way man, 31, were charged with breaking and entering and possessing criminal tools after they allegedly broke into Karder Machine on Kenmore Boulevard.
A Darrow Road woman, 21, was charged with forgery and uttering after she allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent check at a business in the 1500 block of Home Avenue.
An Akron man, 53, was charged with violating a protection order after police reported finding him at his ex-wife’s house.
A Seventh Avenue man, 36, was charged with receiving stolen property after police pulled him over in a car stolen from East Cleveland.

New Street siblings were jailed July 8 following an argument in which the brother, 22, was accused of threatening his sister, 30. He was jailed on a charge of domestic violence; she was jailed on an outstanding warrant and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Maple Street man, 26, was jailed on a charge of burglary July 8 in connection with an incident on 35th Street Southwest, where a garage was entered.
Theft
A Meadow Court man told police July 8 that a satellite TV company declined to provide him service until his outstanding debt totaling $4,000 was paid off. The man, who hadn’t had the service, said a company worker told him there were two services provided in his name, one in Doylestown and one in the Massillon area. The service provider is investigating.

A 32-year-old woman was charged July 16 with theft and possession of criminal tools. She is accused of stealing perfume from Ulta Beauty, 3879 Medina Road, by placing them in an altered bag and leaving the store.
Domestic violence
Police responded to Speedway, 9 Cleveland-Massillon Road, where witnesses said a man in a vehicle hit his wife, knocking her to the ground, as she stood in front of the car asking for her purse. The woman’s elbows were bruised. She refused to prosecute.

A Munroe Falls man, 25, was charged with resisting arrest July 14 after he allegedly fought with officers as they took him into custody on Anderson Road at Briarwood Circle because of public intoxication.
A Riverfront Parkway man, 36, was charged with violating a protection order July 12 after he allegedly contacted his girlfriend against a ruling.

A woman, 19, told police July 13 that she was sexually assaulted. She said she did not want to prosecute.

A man told police July 17 that someone took his debit card and driver’s license from an unlocked locker at the Natatorium and made nearly $500 worth of unauthorized charges.
A Suncrest Drive man told police July 13 he paid more than $1,100 for siding work that was not done.
Mail was stolen from a business in the 700 block of Portage Trail July 17.

A man told police July 14 he found a cellphone and $10 bill on North Main Street at Morning Song Lane while riding his bicycle. He gave an officer the phone, but not the cash. When the officer asked for the money, the man said he was keeping it. The officer persuaded him to turn in the $10.

A boy, 15, playing an Internet game July 16-18 was contacted by another player who asked for a picture of the teen. After the boy sent a picture, the player told him to send money or he would post the image on other websites. The teen sent $90 in iTunes gift certificates.

A Weyrick Road woman reported July 18 that a man called, identified himself as a debt collector and told her she owed $138,000.

A Brunk Road man, 21, was wanted on a domestic violence warrant July 9 after he allegedly choked a female and threw her on top of a vehicle.

An Atlanta woman told police June 28 that a table, chair and other items, total value $779, were stolen from a unit at Storage Zone on Canton Road.
Burglary
A burglar entered a South Arlington Road home through a window July 7 and stole a platinum and gold ring and other items, total value $2,659.
A revolver and gold watch, total value $1,500, were stolen July 8 from a home on Harlan Avenue, Lakemore.
Two TV sets, total value $795, were stolen July 3 from an East Waterloo Road home.

An Ironwood Road woman told police she paid four men $2,300 to pressure-wash her home. They worked three hours and said they would finish the next day. They never returned.
A $3,000 gold chain belonging to a Lakemore man was stolen from his Lakeside Drive home, a neighbor told police July 7.
A mower and two bread racks, total value $1,579, were reported stolen July 8 from behind Walmart on South Arlington Road.
Someone broke a lock off a trailer July 8 and stole a $1,200 generator from L.A. Motorcars on South Arlington Road.

Arrests
Two Akron woman, ages 40 and 45, were charged July 12 with possession of chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 76. The older woman also was charged with possessing marijuana.
An Atwater woman, 46, was charged July 13 with two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and one count each of theft and possession of drug abuse instruments. Police reported finding heroin and syringes after the woman was charged with shoplifting at Kmart, 555 South Ave.

Someone broke into a home July 14-17 in the 300 block of North Thomas Road and stole jewelry.

Underage drinking
Two parents were cited for obstructing official business after their son, 19, and several other underage men were drinking alcohol at a Douglas Court home. Officers responding to a noise complaint had to wait 40 minutes for the homeowners to answer the door. The men were cited for underage consumption and their parents were contacted to pick them up.
Suspicious entry
A maintenance for Deer Creek Apartments alerted police after seeing two men climb a balcony, enter a unit through sliding glass doors and carry a mattress out the front door. Officers responding to the scene found the men were making room for new furniture that was to be delivered the next day.
Theft
Police found drugs and several catalytic converters in a vehicle that was pulled over for weaving July 14 on West 130th Street. The passenger was charged with possessing criminal tools, receiving stolen property, possessing drug paraphernalia and drug abuse. The driver was charged with possessing criminal tools, receiving stolen property, driving under suspension, having tinted windows and driving left of center.
Explosives
A business in the York Road Industrial Park reported that someone put explosives in a refrigerator behind the business and blew it up.
Theft
A worker at St. Albert the Great on Wallings Road reported that an older man stole her wallet from a janitor’s closet. The woman retrieved the wallet, but the man fled before police arrived. The victim did not press charges.

Arrest
Officers were called to the 3900 block of Myrtle Lane on July 15 after the former boyfriend of the caller’s granddaughter tried to enter the home. The former boyfriend, 19, was charged with trespassing.
Disorderly conduct
A Brunswick man was arrested July 1 after he refused to quit swearing in the police station lobby. The man had come to station to complain about damage to his vehicle during a drug search by a police dog.
Fireworks arrest
A Twinsburg man was arrested July 3 after officers saw him setting off a firework. The man had previously been warned to stop setting off fireworks.

A Forrest Meadows resident reported July 14 that someone stole money from an account without permission.
North Court Street residents told police July 15 that they had been bilked out of $600 in concert tickets.
A Branch Road woman called police July 15 to report that her former boyfriend had taken her WIC card and refused to return it.

Someone vandalized a portable toilet July 16 in the 800 block of Gates Mills Boulevard.

A Main Street woman reported July 16 that someone opened a credit account in her name in October.
Theft
A man whose vehicle was repossessed July 17 from the 1300 block of High Street allegedly stole the vehicle back the next day. Police contacted the man and assisted with another repossession. The company declined to prosecute the man.

A Windward Trace Circle Northwest man, 44, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest July 8 after he allegedly assaulted his sister during a quarrel and had to be removed from a bedroom after locking himself inside.
A Cleveland man, 52, was arrested July 5 on a theft warrant.

A 6-ton jack, oil drum and jack stands, total value $1,000, were reported stolen July 8 from a Wales Avenue Northwest home.
A purse, cash and other items, total value $590, were stolen from a vehicle July 1 at Powerhouse Gym on Promler Avenue Northwest.

A Bay Vista Circle Northwest man, 23, admitted taking a credit card July 9 from an unlocked car on Williamsburg Avenue, fueling his vehicle at a gas station and driving to a second location and purchasing items, police said. Total loss was $89.20.

Two Massillon men, 40 and 32, were charged with failure to comply July 12 after they allegedly drove through a traffic stop at Warwick and Porr roads in Chippewa Township. The men drove through high water, fled their 2000 Chevrolet van and ran into woods at Porr and Pleasant Home roads, where they were apprehended.
A Chippewa Township man, 36, was charged with felony domestic violence July 14 after his girlfriend, 37, reported that he struck her in the arm.

A 9 mm handgun worth $350 was reported stolen July 11 from a home in the 900 block of Cockrell Road, Canaan Township.
A Chippewa Township resident reported July 13 that $209 was taken from a home in the 15300 block of Rittman Road.
