CUYAHOGA FALLS: A Cuyahoga Falls police officer was seriously injured early Saturday morning in what may have been an attack on police.

The department identified the officer on its Facebook page Sunday as Ted Davis, an 11-year veteran of the force. Police say he has serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

According to the police, the incident unfolded like this: A vehicle entered the police station parking lot on 2nd Street about 1:15 a.m. and hit three parked patrol cars before driving away.

Other patrol cars chased the vehicle onto Broad Boulevard, where the driver intentionally crossed the center line to ram an oncoming police car, police said.

No other details — including what the driver’s possible motivation might be or whether there have been any recent threats made against Cuyahoga Falls police — have been made available.
