Akron arrest reports — compiled March 16

Arrest reports from the Akron Police Department, compiled March 16:

• A White Avenue man, 29, was charged with domestic violence and violation of a temporary protection order after his live-in girlfriend was assaulted.

• A Dietz Avenue man, 24, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and weapons under disability. The suspect was observed placing a handgun in the glove box before officers approached the car, and he admitted that the gun was his. He had prior convictions for crimes of violence.

• A Victory Street man, 19. was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Copley Road for a male leaving a business with a gun in his waistband. The suspect was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by officers as it was backing out of the driveway. As officers asked him to step out of the car, they observed a loaded .45-caliber handgun under his left leg. Officers then found a digital scale and marijuana inside of the vehicle.

• A Ruckel Road woman, 27, was charged with heroin abuse after having been found to be driving with a suspended license. She took her jacket off and placed it into the backseat; officers checked the jacket and found heroin in the pocket.

• A Coventry Street resident was charged with felonious assault and shooting into an occupied structure. Police said the suspect went the Crane Walk apartment of a female friend and fired several shots at the apartment following an argument. No one was struck.

• A 41-year-old woman from Robinson Avenue in Barberton was charged with possession of meth. Officers responded to the 1000 block of Kenmore Boulevard for a report of a female with a possible gun in her purse. Officers located the suspect, who gave consent to search her purse. Officers found coffee filters wrapped over a white powdered residue that tested positive for meth.

• A 37-year-old man from 31st Street in Barberton was charged with illegal assembly of chemicals, manufacturing of meth and misrepresenting identity. He was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at North Arlington and Kent streets. He gave officers false information about his identity. Officers found lye, muriatic acid and butane lighter fluids —items commonly used to manufacture meth — inside of the car.

• A Good Park Boulevard man, 49, was charged with domestic violence, domestic violence menacing, felonious assault and violation of a protection order. Police said he was involved in an argument with his live-in girlfriend, who has a protection order against him being at the house. Police said he went to the residence and cut her with a knife on the leg; when she tried to call for help, he broke the phone. The suspect has prior arrests for domestic violence.

• An East Glenwood Avenue man, 46, was charged with disrupting public service, assault, disorderly conduct by violent and turbulent behavior and intoxication. The suspect was intoxicated and struck the bus driver in the side of the face multiple times while he was operating the vehicle and while it was moving, police said.
