A Regal Avenue man, 31, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop at Vernon Odom Boulevard and Interstate 77.
A Delia Avenue man, 28, was charged with tampering with evidence and improper handling of a firearm after police found a loaded magazine in the center console of his vehicle after a traffic stop.
A Barberton man, 23, of Pasadena Place, was charged with theft after he allegedly took more than $1,800 worth of merchandise while working at Sears in Chapel Mall. Officers said he didn’t scan items and awarded drastic discounts.
A Fried Street man, 20, was charged with receiving stolen property after police stopped him on Lawton Street on a dirt bike that had been reported stolen.
A woman, 40, with no known address, was charged with forgery and receiving stolen property after she allegedly tried to cash a stolen check at a South Arlington Street business.
A man, 51, with no permanent address, was charged with burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found asleep on a couch inside a home.

Police responded to a report of a woman driving in circles Sept. 21 at the intersection of Medina Road and Cleveland-Massillon Road. Officers found the woman standing on the side of the road, crying hysterically and “highly intoxicated.” She was transported to a local hospital.

Domestic incident
Officers responded to a quarrel Aug. 31 between a married couple at a Cliffside Drive home. The husband, who came home intoxicated, didn’t think his granddaughter and her boyfriend should sleep in the same bed, police said.

An Akron woman, 58, was arrested while sleeping under a gazebo at Rosemont Commons on Sept. 22. Police took her into custody after learning she had an active warrant at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

A Bancroft Road woman, 40, told police she was the victim of identity fraud Sept. 19. Check N’ Go called her at work about a $4,300 delinquent loan. Police advised her to tell credit bureaus about the fraud.
An Akron woman, 41, was charged with misrepresenting her identity Sept. 19.

A Massillon Road man, 46, was charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business Sept. 15 at G L Motel. Police said he ripped off a woman’s jacket and pushed her before officers subdued him with a Taser. He was wanted on warrants alleging receiving stolen property, theft and violating probation.

Nineteen packages of Fusion razors and two shopping bags, total value $556, were reported stolen Sept. 16 from the CVS pharmacy on Massillon Road.

Two welders, five power drills and assorted other tools, total value $1,600, were reported stolen from a Lyman Drive shed Sept. 10.

An employee of Rubber Associates told police Sept. 12 that two men in a truck with 30-day license tags stole scrap metal valued at $50 from an outside storage bin Aug. 16. The theft was discovered during a review of surveillance video.

A Columbia Woods Drive woman reported Sept. 22 that she was followed to work by a red sport utility vehicle being driven by an ex-friend’s father. She said the man has threatened her in the past.

Two Akron residents, a Keys Place man, 20, and an Edmeyer Court boy, 17, were arrested Sept. 14 after shots were fired at pursuing police officers in a wooded area near Krumroy Road. Both were charged with felonious assault, receiving stolen property and possession of a defaced firearm. A third suspect was released without charges.

A Kubler Trail woman told police Sept. 15 that someone stole three TV sets, cash and other items, total value $1,820, from her home.
A safe containing five handguns, cash, gold coins and other items, total value $65,800, was reported stolen Sept. 10 from a home on Pine Lake Trail.

Someone used a credit account of Erie Construction on East Waterloo Road to make fraudulent purchases totaling $2,500 at area Lowe’s stores, police were told Sept. 12.

Construction tools valued at $3,950 were reported stolen Sept. 15 from the Ohio CAT Rental on Applegrove Street Northwest after someone cut a lock off a toolbox.
Wrenches, socket sets and an impact gun, total value $3,900, were stolen Sept. 15 after someone pried open a door at Hensel’s Garage on Riverside Avenue Northwest.

A woman told police Sept. 11 that a motorist drove up, leaned out a window and stole her purse from a shopping cart in a parking lot at Acme Super Center on Whipple Avenue Northwest. The purse and contents were valued at $1,000.
Kay Jewelers in Belden Village Mall reported Sept. 9 that a $19,999 diamond ring was transferred there Sept. 2, but had not been processed and was either stolen or accidentally thrown away.

A homeless Wooster man was charged with drug trafficking Sept. 19 after a deputy found him passed out behind the wheel of a car in the 5100 block of Mono Drive, Green Township. The deputy reported finding four bags of marijuana, a scale and $240.
A Big Prairie man was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine Sept. 24, and a Big Prairie woman was charged with possession of cocaine and drugs.

A sex offender who reportedly is awaiting charges in a Mississippi jail failed to notify the Wayne sheriff Sept. 23 that he had moved from a home in the 4900 block of East Messner Road, East Union Township.
A male sex offender failed to notify the Wayne sheriff on Sept. 23 that he had moved from a home in the 300 block of Nold Avenue, Wooster. The man also failed to report that he had changed jobs.
Possession of drugs
A man was transported to Wooster Community Hospital on Sept. 19 after he overdosed on heroin at a home in the 1400 block of Frank Drive, Wooster Township.

A Wooster man, 54, was charged with felony domestic violence Sept. 20 after he allegedly beat his wife, 55, with a bicycle pump at their home in the 1200 block of Rebecca Street. The couple’s grandson stabbed the man in the arm several times with a knife to stop the beating, police said.
A West Salem man, 28, was charged with breaking and entering Sept. 21, and a Wooster man, 29, was charged with breaking and entering, theft and criminal trespass after they allegedly tried to steal copper wire from AEP, 500 Maple St.

A Fox Lake Road man reported Sept. 20 that a man broke a window at a home in the 400 block of Nold Avenue, entered the home and jumped on him.
A PlayStation 4 console and a game, total value $435, were reported stolen Sept. 21 from a home in the 600 block of Gasche Street.

A Lakeville man reported Sept. 22 that someone took his DVDs worth $1,500 in a fraudulent scheme at the Wayne County Library, 220 W. Liberty St.
An Orrville man, 55, told police Sept. 23 that someone used his debit card at a home in the 500 block of Williamsburg Court.

A black leather purse with $42, a checkbook and bank cards were reported stolen Sept. 19 from a pickup truck in the 2900 block of Oak Hill Road.
A woman reported Sept. 19 that her stepson took two televisions and jewelry worth $3,200 from her home in the 5200 block of Emalene Drive.
A wallet with $11 and bank cards was stolen Sept. 23 from a car in the 900 block of Gasche Street.
