Akron

Arrests

An East Buchtel Avenue man, 55, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after he allegedly struck his girlfriend in the face and broke her jaw.

A Newton Street man, 38, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly smacked his girlfriend’s 12-year-old son across the face and shoved him over a couch.

A Grace Avenue man, 24, was charged with possession of crack and heroin after police stopped him on Rentar Lane.

A South Highland Avenue man, 43, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Wren Walk.

A Faye Road man, 24, was charged with possession of heroin, marijuana, Suboxone, criminal tools and drug paraphernalia.

A Copley Road man, 28, was charged with trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin.

A Dover Avenue man, 29, was charged with willful fleeing, resisting arrest and obstructing official business after allegedly leading police on a car chase on Orlando Avenue.

A Green woman, 30, of Greensburg Road, was charged with possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia after she was stopped outside a known drug house.

A Pioneer Street man, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly held someone up at gunpoint and took $50.

A Morgan Avenue man, 19, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly struck the mother of his child seceral times in the face.

An Anderson Avenue man, 23, was charged with possession of crack, trafficking in crack and tampering with evidence.

A Jonathan Avenue, 23, was charged with possession of crack and trafficking in crack.

An East Market Street man, 28, was charged with illegal assembly of chemicals after police reported finding items used to make meth.

A Fairlawn man, 31, of Kenridge Road, was charged with possession of crack, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle after a traffic stop.

Arrest

A 24th Street Southwest woman, 23, was charged with domestic violence March 7 after the father of her child said she punched him in the ear for comments he made as she dropped off the child for a visit.

Thefts

Two managers at Blind & Sons on Fourth Street Northwest told police a worker is suspected of falsifying invoices and stealing $1,900.

On March 10, an East Lake Avenue resident told police that items with a total value of $970, including $400 in cash and his cellphone, were stolen from his home while he was away. A rear window was broken to gain entry, police were told.

Identity theft

A Granger Road woman reported March 18 she and her husband received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service that acknowledged receipt of their 2013 return, and warned that it may be fraudulent.

Misuse of a credit card

A Cleveland-Massillon Road man reported March 18 a relative took his credit card and used it to make purchases totaling nearly $2,000

Theft

A Foxwood Drive woman, 24, reported March 18 that a gun was stolen from her home during a party March 4.

Copley Township

Arrest

A man, 60, was charged with driving under the influence March 13. Officers arrested him after he drove off the road and crashed.

Coventry Township

Burglaries

Three safes, two computers and cash were stolen March 12 following the forced entry of a Wood Duck Lane apartment.

Someone broke into a South Gregg Road apartment Feb. 27 and took a 50-inch TV valued at $1,750.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

A Tudor Street man, 24, was charged March 19 with domestic violence after he allegedly punched and shoved his girlfriend, 22.

A Second Street woman, 39, was charged with possessing cocaine and drug paraphernalia March 16.

A Valley Road man, 62, was charged March 17 with domestic violence after he allegedly struck his daughter, 35, in the face and head.

A Victor Avenue man, 35, was charged March 15 with possession of drugs and possession of a drug abuse instrument.

Assault

A Hudson Drive man reported his son, 13, was stabbed in the neck three times with a pen by a classmate at St. Joseph’s School, 1909 Third St., on March 19.

Burglaries

Homes in the 2400 block of Willis Street and 1700 block of Windsor Street were looted March 13. Jewelry and credit cards were taken. A Windsor Street man, 23, was arrested in the incidents.

Someone broke into a home in the 300 block of Woodridge Drive on March 14 and stole three money jars, total value $2,000.

Someone entered a home in the 100 block of West Steels Corners Road on March 14 and stole more than $5,000 in items.

Felonious assault

A Seventh Street woman, 39, reported March 18 that a woman hit her in the eye as she walked on Sixth Street at Lincoln Avenue.

Identity theft

A Second Street woman reported March 20 someone used her personal information to file a fraudulent federal tax return.

An 86-year-old woman’s Social Security number and bank information was used to steal money.

Theft

A Queens Gate woman reported March 18 that someone stole $10,500 worth of H-bonds from her dining room table.

Fairlawn

Arrests

A Riviera Drive man, 18, was charged with domestic violence and trespassing March 19 after he allegedly broke down the door of his mother’s home and pushed her.

Police found a Winchester Road man, 54, partially clothed on the floor with a bruise to his left eye. He said two strangers assaulted him.

Theft

A Canton man, 58, told police someone removed a $600 catalytic converter from his car.

Green

Arrest

A woman was charged with domestic violence March 16 after she allegedly struck her boyfriend several times in the face on Royal County Downs Drive.

Breaking and entering

A $500 laptop computer was stolen along with $700 on March 12 at Shear Dimensions on South Main Street.

Hudson

Arrests

An Akron man was arrested March 10 on a warrant. The warrant was discovered during a traffic stop.

Identity theft

A Woodspring Lane woman reported March 11 someone sent letters referencing drugs, sex and religion, signed her name and distributed them to her neighbors.

Mogadore

Arrests

Police were called March 16 to the Speedway on Mogadore Road after a worker complained that a customer was doing drugs in the rest­room. An Akron woman was found with a bag of white powder.

New Franklin

Arrest

A Canal Fulton man, 25, of Deborah Circle, was charged with domestic violence March 7 after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and forced her into his vehicle.

Burglary

A computer and electronic gear, total value $1,753, were stolen from a Tarlton Avenue home March 8.

Theft

A $6,126 tractor and utility trailer were taken March 7 from a driveway on Barrymore Avenue.

Norton

Burglary

Someone took $4,000 in property March 17 from a home in the 4000 block of Reimer Road.

Springfield Township

Arrests

Three adults and a youth were arrested March 9 after a Springfield Township officer discovered a small trash fire inside a section of the former Springfield High School.

A Stevenson Avenue resident, 57, was charged with aggravated menacing March 7 after he lunged with a knife at another man at a home on Coach Lane.

Stow

Criminal damaging

Two tires on a truck parked in the 4700 block of Darrow Road were slashed March 17.

Two Elmhurst Drive residents reported March 15 someone slashed the tires on their vehicles.

Identity theft

A Berwin Drive man told police March 19 someone used his ID to file a fraudulent federal tax return.

A Cox Drive woman reported March 18 someone used her personal information to secure a loan.

Menacing

Motorists driving March 17 on Kenneth Road said a man standing at Vira Road pulled a gun, pointed it at them and fled.

Theft

Fitbit products, valued at $1,800, were taken from Target, 4200 Kent Road, March 14.

Tallmadge

Arrests

An Akron man, 21, was charged March 18 with aggravated trafficking and aggravated possession of heroin at Saxon Village apartment on North Thomas Road.

A North Thomas Road man, 29, was arrested March 20 on a domestic violence warrant.
