Summit County

Akron

Arrests

A Sunsetview Drive man, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly pulled a gun on a Herman Avenue resident and demanded money. While fleeing, he fired several shots, but no one was wounded. Police arrested him a few houses away. A Herman Avenue woman, 18, was charged with obstructing justice.

A Roslyn Avenue man, 30, was charged with attempted aggravated burglary, domestic violence and criminal damaging after he allegedly tried to enter windows at a woman’s home and broke a car window when she tried to flee. He allegedly assaulted a visitor, chased the homeowner and threw her to the ground. He continued to assault her until police restrained him.

An East Avenue man, 23, was charged with possessing a weapon illegally, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence. He allegedly fired a stolen .357 revolver at a man at Noble and Delia avenues.

A Boulevard Avenue man, 30, was charged with receiving stolen property, weapons offenses, drug abuse and possession of an open container in a car. He was a passenger in a car stopped at South Hawkins Avenue and Vernon Odom Boulevard. He had an open bottle of vodka in plain view and a loaded .45-caliber handgun under his seat, police said. The gun had been reported stolen in Coshocton County.

A Port Washington man, 35, was charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly was seen circling the parking lot of a gas station at South Arlington Street and East Archwood Avenue in a vehicle reported stolen from Coshocton County.

A West High Street man, 20, was charged with burglary after he allegedly climbed into a first-floor window of a suspected meth house on Highview Avenue.

A Sanitarium Road man, 18, and a man, 42, were charged with burglary and complicity after they allegedly broke into an Upper Merriman Drive home.

Barberton

Arrests

An East Cassell Avenue man, 31, was arrested on a domestic violence warrant April 23. He is accused of grabbing his wife by the throat, choking her, slamming her against a vehicle and punching her.

A Pasadena Place youth, 16, was charged with domestic violence April 20 after he allegedly fought with siblings two days earlier.

An Oak Avenue woman was charged with forgery and theft April 20 after she allegedly took a large-screen TV, computer and other items from the home of her boyfriend’s father.

Breaking and entering

A large-screen TV and toolbox, total value $1,300, were stolen April 18 from an Oakwood Street home.

Thefts

A wood chipper valued at $3,500 was reported stolen April 19 from a Tuscarawas Avenue home.

A Stanley Avenue man told police April 23 that someone stole $800 from his wallet.

Bath Township

Arrests

A man, 34, was charged with obstructing official business and theft April 27 after he allegedly stole from TJ Maxx, 3897 Medina Road, and gave police a false name. He also had a felony warrant from Barberton.

Burglary

Someone broke into a Round Hill Drive home April 25, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Copley

Domestic violence

A Meadow Run woman, 35, told police that her husband assaulted her April 24. She said he came over to pick up their children and put them in the car, but started yelling at her and breaking items. She said he threw her on the floor, held her and threatened to take the kids away from her.

Identity theft

A Burnwyke Court woman told police someone made $8,000 in unauthorized transactions with her credit card.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

An Akron man, 25, was charged with obstructing official business April 26 after he allegedly fled from police during a traffic stop on Chart Road.

A 17th Street boy, 15, was charged with assault April 27 after he allegedly hit a man, 19, on Riverfront Parkway.

Burglary

Someone broke into a home April 26 in the 1600 block of 11th Street and stole $3,500 in electronics.

Forgery

A woman cashed a counterfeit check for $1,300 on April 26 at CheckSmart, 696 Howe Ave.

Theft

The owner of a local car wash reported April 29 that a former employee failed to return keys, employee payroll checks and a weekend deposit of $2,600 after being fired.

Appliances were stolen from four vacant homes April 29 in the 1100 block of Moria Avenue.

Theft by deception

An Akron woman reported April 27 she bought a vehicle from a Cuyahoga Falls man through a Craigslist ad. She said she paid $1,350, then discovered the seller did not have a clear title.

A Riverfront Parkway man, 79, told police April 27 that he spent about $2,000 over the past year, sending it to people who said he would receive a sweepstakes prize.

Fairlawn

Arrests

An Akron man, 45, was arrested April 30 at Summit Mall on an Akron warrant. Officers questioned him after mall security said they wanted him banned because of an incident at Victoria’s Secret. After searching the man, police reported finding a crack pipe.

An Akron man, 23, was charged with violating a protection order April 28 after officers pulled over his car because of expired tags. His passenger had filed the order against him.

An Akron man, 30, was charged with theft April 25 after he allegedly stole an Xbox controller April 19 from The Exchange on West Market Street.

Thefts

Two men stole a gas hedge trimmer and an edger attachment from Walmart on April 30.

GetGo told police a woman pumped $57.08 in gas without paying April 29 on West Market Street.

Green

Arrests

An Akron man, 44, of Home Avenue, was arrested April 23 during a traffic stop at Caston Road and Castlegate Boulevard on warrants of domestic violence, carrying a concealed weapon and menacing.

A woman with no permanent address was arrested April 23 in Barberton on forgery and theft warrants from Green.

Burglary

A South Main Street woman told deputies that she saw a van in her driveway that then drove through her yard as she arrived home April 23. Upon entering the house, she found her flat-screen TV, five watches and an Xbox system were missing.

Hudson

Arrests

A Willow Lake Drive man, 18, and a Hammontree Drive woman, 18, were charged with criminal mischief April 26, and a 16-year-old was transferred to the police juvenile bureau. The three allegedly threw eggs at vehicles in a West Streetsboro Street parking lot.

Misuse of a credit card

An Elmcrest Drive man reported April 27 that a relative used his debit card without permission.

New Franklin

Burglary

A Vanderhoof Road man told police April 20 that someone kicked in a door and stole a revolver and electronic equipment, total value $2,435.

Identity fraud

A Center Road resident reported April 15 that someone used his personal information to deposit his $2,145 income tax check into an unknown bank account.

Norton

Burglary

A home in the 4100 block of Wads­worth Road was burglarized April 26, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Springfield Township

Breaking and entering

A toolbox, tools and a well pump, total value $1,100, were reported stolen April 18 from an Ozark Drive storage shed that had been forced open.

Burglary

A $700 TV set was stolen from a Laverne Lane home while a resident was away, police were told April 17.

Vandalism

Police said two boys, 16, and 15, admitted causing $7,300 in damage April 25 to Springfield High School on Sanitarium Road. They destroyed drywall and a computer in the boys locker room.

Vandals knocked over 16 monuments and gravestones April 20 at Hillside Memorial Park on Canton Road. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

Thefts

A Uniontown man told police that his wallet containing $1,200 and credit cards was stolen April 21 from his pickup outside the Akron Kung Fu Academy on Canton Road.

Nine dolls, clothing and other collectibles, total value $1,554, were reported stolen April 19 from a Lakemore home on Front Street.

Stow

Arrests

A Munroe Falls woman, 21, was charged with trafficking in heroin April 26. She was released to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, where she was wanted on several warrants.

Two boys, ages 11 and 12, were charged with arson April 30 after they allegedly set fire to a field on Bridgewater Parkway. When the fire spread, a boy called his mother, who called firefighters. Only the field was damaged.

A homeless man, 42, was charged with menacing by stalking May 1.

A Pardee Road man, 37, was charged with assault May 2.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into a garage in the 4600 block of Fishcreek Road and stole $1,400 in tools April 27.

Burglary

A Kent Road man discovered an intruder in his apartment April 30 and scared him off by shouting.

A debit card and $200 were stolen April 25 from a home in the 4300 block of Mannington Boulevard.

Identity theft

A Courtiff Circle man told police May 1 that someone used his personal information in an attempt to open a credit card account.

A Cheval Circle woman reported April 27 that someone used her personal information and credit card account number to make unauthorized online purchases totaling nearly $150.

Tallmadge

Arrests

An Akron man, 19, was charged with aggravated menacing April 25 after he allegedly threatened to kill his boss after being fired at a Commerce Street business.

A Crossings Circle man, 55, was charged April 26 with obstructing official business after he allegedly ignored police orders as they investigated an assault complaint.

A Southeast Avenue man, 66, was charged with creating a nuisance condition April 26 after police received complaints about a strong smell of cat urine. The man told police he has seven cats living in his garage.

Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 1000 block of Northwest Avenue on May 2, but nothing was missing.

Medina County

Wadsworth

Arrests

A Park Meadows Court woman, 26, was charged with domestic violence May 1.

Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 100 block of East Bergey Street between April 4 and April 27, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Misuse of a credit card

A Trease Road resident told police April 30 that someone made unauthorized charges with his credit card.

Portage County

Kent

Arrests

A Mogadore man, 40, was arrested during a traffic stop May 2 on West Summit Street. Police stopped the car because of a suspended license and discovered that the driver was wanted on warrants from four jurisdictions.

Burglary

Someone broke into a West Hall Street home May 1 and stole cash and credit cards.

Stark County

Jackson Township

Arrests

A Blackburn Road Northwest woman, 18, was charged with domestic violence April 22 after she allegedly bit her brother several times during a quarrel over the family car.

A Canton woman, 48, of Penn Place Northeast, was arrested April 23 on a warrant of breaking and entering.

A Massillon woman, 47, was arrested April 22 at her Second Street Northeast home on a felony burglary warrant from Jackson Township.

Robbery

A clerk at the Red Roof Inn on Inn Circle Northwest told police April 19 that a machete-wielding robber entered the office and claimed to have an explosive attached to his belt. The robber fled with $191 from a drawer.

Thefts

A Canton woman told police April 24 that someone took $550 from her purse at the Ameridial facility on Higbee Avenue Northwest.

A $500 iPhone was stolen April 23 from Sunglass Hut at Westfield Belden Village Mall while a clerk helped customers at the front of the store.

A Fresh Meadows, N.Y., woman told police April 22 that someone broke into her car at Dillard’s at Westfield Belden Village Mall and stole two laptop computers, total value $1,000, two wedding dresses and other items.

Someone stole a $600 iPhone from a Lake O’Springs Avenue Northwest home April 22.

North Canton

Arrest

An Applegrove Street Northeast man was charged with domestic violence April 24 after he allegedly shoved his wife into an art easel.

Thefts

Six rings, total value $11,665, were reported stolen April 16 from a Sutton Avenue Northeast home.

Someone ransacked lockers April 3 at Famous Hair on East Maple Street and stole two cellphones and other items, total value $958.

Plain Township

Arrests

An Orchardale Drive Northwest woman, 26, was charged with domestic violence April 21 after she allegedly threw a water bottle at the father of her child, striking him in the head, and punched him several times.

A Sun Valley Avenue Northeast man was charged with domestic violence April 20 after he allegedly grabbed a woman by her sweatshirt and threatened her.

A homeless man, 34, was charged with burglary April 20 after he was found inside a 25th Street Northwest home without permission.

Uniontown

Arrest

A Legacy Street man, 20, was charged with domestic violence, aggravated menacing and resisting arrest April 24 after he allegedly threatened to harm his father and waved a gun in front of his parents.
