Arrests
A North Howard Street woman, 50, and a Thorpe Street man, 33, were charged with theft, receiving stolen property, misuse of credit cards and carrying a concealed weapon. The woman also was charged with receiving stolen property. Police said they stole a woman’s purse and used her credit cards at a Circle K gas station on East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue. They had several other credit cards belonging to other people in their possession and admitted to the theft, police said.
A Lakemont Avenue man, 49, was charged with breaking and entering and vandalism. Police said he broke into a Manchester Road home and stole about 60 pounds of scrap metal. Damage to the property was estimated at more than $1,000.
A Martin Road, Suffield woman, 19, was charged with felonious assault. Police said she hit another woman in the face with a shot glass.
A Greenwood Avenue man, 44, was charged with burglary. Police said he broke into a Cloverdale Avenue residence. The owner came home and followed the man when he left the residence.
A South Hawkins Avenue man, 30, was charged with discharging a firearm, receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon illegally. Police said officers heard shots being fired in the Stoner Street and Nome Avenue area. The man was found walking in the street with a gun in his hand.
A 49-year-old man was charged with breaking and entering. Police said he broke into a North Howard Street property and stole a laptop computer.
A Christine Circle Northwest, Uniontown man, 34, was charged with felonious assault. Police said he punched another man in the face, causing serious injury to the victim’s jaw.
A Cleveland Avenue Southwest, Canton man, 75, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Police said he was found in possession of a loaded gun on East Exchange Street.
An East Wilbeth Road man, 28, was charged with domestic violence and felonious assault.

A Michigan Place juvenile was booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of domestic violence March 26 after being accused of fighting and biting his sister.
Police jailed a 26-year-old Eighth Street Northwest woman on a charge of domestic violence March 25. Her ex-boyfriend told police she punched him several times in the neck and face and fled on West Park Avenue. She was arrested at her home.
On March 24, police arrested a West Summit Street man, 24, on a warrant charging him with misuse of credit cards.
Burglary
A Van Street woman told police March 24 that tools, a laptop computer and other items, total value $3,675, were stolen over a three-month period.
Thefts
A Norwood Street resident said March 30 that her wedding ring and band, total value $5,500, were stolen from her home.
Police were called to investigate a Benton Street man’s story March 26 that he was sent a check for $1,980.45 after applying on Craigslist for a position as a secret shopper. He was to keep $200, purchase a $30 electronic device at Walmart and send the balance to a woman. The bank gave him the $200, put a hold on the balance and then notified him the check was fraudulent.

A Bath Hills Boulevard home was burglarized April 2. Nothing appeared to be missing.
Misuse of a credit card
A San Pier Drive man reported March 30 that someone used his credit-card account to make an unauthorized Internet purchase.
Copley Township
Theft
A White Pond Drive man, 30, told police his car had been broken into March 26. He said a checkbook, Coach checkbook carrier, an American Express card, hockey skates and a pair of Oakley sunglasses were taken. The total value of all stolen items is $375.

A 54-year-old Boat Drive resident was jailed on a charge of domestic violence March 25 after police said she hit her husband in the face during an argument.
A warrant for identity theft led to the arrest of a Swartz Road man at his home March 23.
Cuyahoga Falls

A 12-year-old East Portage Trail boy was charged April 3 with domestic violence.
Burglary
A video game system, video games and about $20 in change were taken during the burglary of a home in the 2000 block of Issaquah Street.
Misuse of credit card
A 14th Street woman reported April 2 that she lost her wallet March 30 in the Target parking lot at 444 Howe Ave. Credit cards that were in the wallet later was used for unauthorized charges.
Theft
Someone took $7,000 worth of steel shelves from behind Monro Brakes and Tires, 2850 State Road, on March 29.
A handgun was taken from the basement of a home in the 500 block of Archdale Ave.
A Seventh Street man reported March 29 someone stole more than $200 by making fraudulent transactions through his bank account.
Someone knocked over 40 gravestones and monuments in Oakwood Cemetery on March 30.

Arrests
An Akron woman, 32, and a Fairlawn man were arrested on theft charges March 30. Police said they tried to steal merchandise from Macy’s in Summit Mall. Due to the dollar amount, $306.50, Macy’s declined to press charges. They did ban the suspects from the store for three years.
An Akron woman, 22, was arrested on theft charges March 29. Police said she was caught trying to take items from Dillard’s in Summit Mall. Responding officers discovered she had an outstanding warrant for an arrest in Brecksville. She was turned over to the Brecksville Police Department.
An Akron woman, 23, was arrested March 29 after getting into an altercation with security in Summit Mall. A background check revealed a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court.
Theft
A Mansfield woman, 31, and an Ontario man, 45, are wanted on charges they stole from the Target on West Market Street on April 2. Police said the woman took more than $2,100 worth of ink cartridges while her accomplice distracted a store employee.
A Sunridge Road man, 55, told police someone had stolen a Garmin GPS and Blackberry phone charger from her unlocked car March 29. Other vehicles were broke into at numerous homes on Torrey and Augusta streets. Another car was broken into on Fieldcrest Drive, but the items were returned to its owner.

A Summit County sheriff’s deputy jailed a South Main Street man, 25, on a charge of domestic violence March 25. A report indicated the suspect struck a girl, 11, with a broom handle after grabbing her by the hair.
A Doylestown woman, 34, of James Way, was jailed in Summit County on March 24 on a robbery charge after being taken into custody by a Wayne County sheriff’s deputy on state Route 21 at Eastern Road.
Aggravated robbery
Two cellphones and cash totaling $2,600 were reported stolen by two suspects armed with a baseball bat at Thomas’ Drive Thru on South Arlington Road on March 29.

A Miles Standish Lane resident reported March 28 that someone put animal feces in the mailbox.

A Lodi resident told police March 28 that his $3,000 box trailer was stolen from his storage location on Rex Lake Road.
Springfield Township
Arrest
A Mentor man, 33, was summoned to Akron Municipal Court on a forgery charge March 25. Security personnel said he tried to cash a $789 check, but the Walmart store on South Arlington Road already had three similar checks returned as fraudulent.
Breaking and entering
Steel and aluminum, total value $1,600, were reported stolen March 27 from behind the fenced-in area of Die Gem Co. on Die Gem Way after a chain was cut to gain entry.

A 19-year-old Akron man was charged April 1 with two counts of receiving stolen property.

A Camden Drive resident reported April 2 that her neighbor’s pig was in her yard.
Assault
A 23-year-old Cleveland Heights man reported April 2 he was assaulted by a woman while in a car in the 700 block of Steels Corners Road.
A 33-year-old Vira Road woman reported April 2 she was assaulted by a person she knows. Police are investigating.
Burglary
A GPS was stolen from a car in an attached garage at a home in the 3100 block of Crown Pointe Drive on March 28.
Identity theft
A Norton Road woman reported April 1 that someone used her personal information to open three credit accounts and have her mail forwarded to a different address.
Sexual assault
A 27-year-old Kent woman reported April 2 that she was sexually assaulted in Stow on March 30.
Theft
A Fishcreek Road woman reported April 2 someone stole more than $1,100 worth of items from her home.
The director of Stow-Glen, 4285 Kent Road, reported April 3 that she found nearly 80 doses of narcotic pain medication missing from the drug cart. The drugs were taken March 30 or March 31.

On April 4, police took a report of a juvenile stealing prescription drugs. The case was forwarded to the Medina County juvenile prosecutor.

Arrests
A felony theft charge was lodged against a 25-year-old Columbus woman March 28 after police said she was seen putting women’s and children’s clothing into two shopping carts before running out of the Sears store in the Westfield Belden Village Mall. The items were valued at $4,307, according to a police report that indicated the suspect later turned herself in at the Jackson Police Department.
Police jailed a Cornwall Street Northwest woman, 64, on charges of domestic violence and felony disruption of public services on March 26. She is accused of pushing a man to the ground and striking him in the head with a bottle as well as disconnecting a phone cord.
A Gentry Street Northwest man, 18, was jailed March 25 on a charge of domestic violence. He is accused of punching his brother several times during an argument.
A Northwind Circle Northwest man, 24, was arrested at home March 21 on a warrant charging him with domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
Breaking and entering
A spokesperson for Fairway Carts on Wales Avenue Northwest told police March 25 that entry to the facility was forced and tools, a cart battery charger and cash, total value $650, were stolen.
Burglary
An Apple MacBook and cash, total value $2,700, were reported stolen March 24 from a Stuhldreher Street Northwest home while the occupant slept. She said she noticed the items missing when she arose that morning.
Thefts
A man said he went to his girlfriend’s house March 24 to let a small Dachshund outside and moments later said a large coyote snatched the dog by the neck and ran into the nearby woods. Police searched the wooded area without success, a police report showed.
Tools estimated at $20,000 were reported stolen March 23 from a van in the parking lot of the Tinseltown movie complex on Mega Street Northwest.
A Jackson High School student told police she left her $700 cellphone in a classroom March 22, and it was gone when she returned.
A Portage Street Northwest resident told police that between March 20 and 22 someone entered her home and stole jewelry valued at $690.

A Begonia Circle Northeast man, 28, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence March 27 after another person living in the home was struck in the face.

Police jailed an Indian Circle Northwest man, 24, on a charge of felony domestic violence March 26. Police said he punched his wife during an argument and choked her and also hit and pushed a teenage girl.
North Canton

A Massillon man, 28, of 16th Street SW, was booked on a warrant charging felony receiving stolen property when taken into custody in the 4800 block of Cleveland Avenue Northwest.
A Rogwin Circle Southwest male, 40, was jailed March 22 on a charge of felony domestic violence. He was accused of striking his girlfriend in the face several times during an altercation.
Identity fraud
A Chadford Gate Southeast woman said March 16 that someone accessed her checking account without permission and made $833 in fraudulent charges.
Theft
A city resident told police March 19 that someone entered his car while parked on Hower Street Northeast and stole a camera and other items, total value $1,673.

A Middlebranch Avenue Northeast resident told a Stark County sheriff’s deputy that a male juvenile punched her in the face during an altercation March 28.
An altercation March 26 led to the arrest of a Milford Street Northeast woman, 34, on a charge of domestic violence. Police said she struck her victim in the face several times with her hand.
A Lexington Township man, 19, of McCallum Avenue Northeast, was jailed March 24 after being taken into custody in the 3100 block of Middlebranch Avenue Northeast on a warrant charging telephone harassment and aggravated menacing.
A Kalahari Street Northeast woman, 30, was jailed on a charge of felony robbery March 24 after Kmart personnel said she was seen emptying several items from their original packaging and placing the items in a pocket. Authorities said that when she was asked to pay for the items, she pushed a security guard and attempted to leave before taken into custody.
A Canton woman, 34, of 18th Street Northeast, was charged with felony robbery March 22. A deputy’s report said the suspect put $400 worth of merchandise in a black plastic bag and shoved a Kmart employee as she attempted to leave.

An Akron man, 25, of Tonawanda Avenue, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence, telecommunications harassment and aggravated menacing on March 24 after he turned himself in to Uniontown police on a warrant containing the charges.
Safecracking
An ATM machine and $4,500 were reported stolen March 24 from Bennet’s Restaurant on Cleveland Avenue Northwest before police discovered a side door window had been smashed to gain entry. Officers said pieces of the ATM were on the floor, but the rest of the machine was gone.

An East Union Township man, 43, was arrested April 2 on a charge of felony domestic violence after police said he struck his 31-year-old girlfriend at their residence in the 2000 block of South Kansas Road.
Burglaries
A 2012 pickup truck valued at $45,000 was reported taken March 29 at a residence in the 4600 block of Millersburg Road, Franklin Township.
Three spools of copper wire and five packs of cigarettes, total value $125, were reported stolen March 29 from a residence in the 2400 block of East Tolbert Road, Franklin Township.

A gift card valued at $100 was reported taken March 28 from the porch of a residence in the 4300 block of South Elyria Road, Plain Township.
Scrap aluminum worth $12,054 was reported stolen April 1 from Tring Corp., 8991 E. Lincoln Way, East Union Township.

A wallet with $125 in cash and a $45 check were reported taken April 3 from a residence in the 2900 block of Mechanicsburg Road.

Three tires worth $300 were reported slashed April 2 on a 2008 Ford Explorer in the 600 block of East Wayne Avenue.
