A Chalker Street man, 47, was charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery after he allegedly entered a woman’s home, held a knife to her neck and demanded money. The man fled with her purse and other items, police said.
A Brittain Road man, 58, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after he allegedly stabbed a man in the chest.
A West Cedar Street man, 43, was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly held up someone at gunpoint in a Harris Court home. Police arrested the man at Popeye’s Chicken at North Howard Street and West Tallmadge Avenue.
A Springdale Avenue man, 24, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a woman who is pregnant with his child.
A West Long Street man, 48, was charged with forgery, theft, obstructing official business and carrying a concealed weapon after he allegedly passed fake $20 bills at KC’s 3rd Base Bar on East Tallmadge Avenue. Police said he had a concealed knife.
A Minson Way man, 29, was charged with domestic violence and disrupting public service after he allegedly assaulted a woman and a relative who helped her. He also threw a cellphone when the women called 911.
A South Rhodes Avenue man, 20, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon illegally after police stopped a vehicle with an expired license plate leaving a known drug location. Officers reported finding a loaded gun on the driver.
A Brittain Road man, 29, was charged with possessing a weapon illegally, vandalism, aggravated menacing and discharging a firearm. Police arrested him after hearing shots fired at Bittman and Maple streets.

Someone broke into Cashmere Cricket, 2235 Front St., and stole more than $700 on March 14. The intruder also caused about $1,000 in damage to the bar.

A 21st Street man, 18, told police March 14 that he scared off an intruder who entered his home through one door and exited through another.

A hospice employee, 41, told police March 18 that while providing care at a patient’s residence, a man twice offered her money in return for sex.

A Bailey Road woman reported March 20 someone has been texting inappropriate pictures to her 12-year-old daughter’s cellphone.
Theft
Galvanized conduits and eight sets of anchor bolts, total value $20,000, were stolen March 18 from the future site of Portage Crossing on State Road.
Someone stole $4,000 in jewelry and a container of coins from a Beacon Hill Circle home while residents were out of state in early March.
A 15th Street man told police March 13 his stolen debit card was used for purchases at local businesses.
A coin-operated dryer was stolen March 11 from a laundry room in a Bailey Road apartment building.

An Akron man, 33, was arrested March 20 on a felony warrant through the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. He was apprehended after his vehicle nearly hit a police car that was patrolling the Summit Mall parking lot.
An Akron man, 26, was charged with consuming alcohol in a moving vehicle, having open alcohol in a vehicle and littering March 15. Officers said the man became nervous when he saw a police cruiser following his car and threw the can out a window.

A Chamberlain Road man, 19, told police that his mother broke their front window while she was intoxicated.

A Medina woman told police March 5 that someone stole a spare tire worth $700 while she was working.

A trolling motor, GPS unit and a fish finder, total value $4,500, were reported stolen March 13 from a boat at a King Drive home.

Arrests
Two Akron men were charged with aggravated robbery and kidnapping following a March 12 holdup of a Subway restaurant on Manchester Road. A Summit Street man, 29, and a Florida Avenue man, 23, were arrested after police saw them flee the scene in a car. The older man was also charged with failing to comply with a police order and obstructing official business.

A Clinton woman told police March 7 that her debit card was used March 5 to order $594 in merchandise from Walmart’s website.

An Akron man, 32, of Sherman Court, was charged with domestic violence March 10 after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend at her Killian Road home because she texted another man. He then allegedly used a pickax to damage a car in her driveway.
An East Waterloo Road man, 51, and his son, 16, were charged with domestic violence March 11 following a quarrel in their home. Police said the father punched his son in the mouth, and the son hit his father in the head with a glass pitcher.
An Albrecht Avenue man, 34, was charged with felony domestic violence March 10 after he allegedly ripped a purse away from his live-in girlfriend and then began destroying their home with a hammer.
An Akron woman, 36, of Fremont Avenue, was charged with domestic violence and possession of drug paraphernalia after she allegedly assaulted her brother March 10 on Laverne Lane.
An Avis Road girl, 15, was charged with domestic violence after she allegedly threw items downstairs at her father March 7.

A Louisville woman, 35, was charged with illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture drugs and illegal purchase of pseudoephedrine March 21. Police reported finding the pills during a traffic stop.
Burglary
A Brittain Circle apartment was broken into March 21 by someone who apparently found the apartment key in the owner’s vehicle. The vehicle and apartment were ransacked. Computers and power tools were taken.

A Kmart security officer reported March 16 that a woman used two counterfeit $50 bills to buy goods at the South Avenue store.
Counterfeit $50 bills were used in four transactions March 17 at Giant Eagle, 205 West Ave.
Identity theft
A South Avenue woman told police March 18 that someone used her information to open an AT&T account. She discovered the fraud when she tried to open an account and was told she had an outstanding balance.

A Paulding Street Northwest woman told police March 12 that she sent $1,500 per instructions from a phone caller from Mexico to aid a family member and then learned the caller was not a relative.
An employee of Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant on Dressler Road Northwest told police March 12 that his car keys were taken from his coat and used to open his vehicle to steal a $1,300 laptop computer. The keys were then returned to his coat.
A Copley Township man told police March 11 that he bought a $600 computer through a Craigslist ad and completed the deal at the Wendy’s restaurant on Portage Street Northwest. He later learned the computer was stolen from the University of Akron.
A Strasburg woman told police March 9 that she set down her purse and cellphone in a parking lot while loading her car trunk with merchandise from Westfield Belden Village Mall. She accidentally drove off without them. When she returned, they were gone.
A security officer at Walmart on Mega Street Northwest told police March 9 that a man put two 40-inch televisions in a cart, exited through a fire door and fled in a white truck.
