At least seven vehicles have been set ablaze in Kenmore over the past two weeks, Akron police said.
Detectives said at least half of the vehicles were stolen from nearby areas — a 1998 Jeep Cherokee taken from Barberton, a 1997 Jeep Cherokee taken from Springfield Township and a 2012 Hyundai Genesis taken from Jason Avenue in Akron.
Police don’t know who owns a pick-up truck involved in the most recent case. The truck was found burned Wednesday at Leeser and Samuel avenues, police said.
Also on Wednesday, a 2005 Chevy Uplander was burned on Fawler Avenue and a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was burned on Swinehart Avenue. Both vehicles were in driveways.
Akron police suspect arson in each case. None of the vehicles involved was burned on the same street.
Police have no suspects in the string of fires, which appears to have started April 15.
