Akron police are seeking the public’s help finding thieves who apparently are hungry.
The first break-in happened just after 10 p.m. Monday. Officers responded to a fire alarm at the North Hill branch of the Akron Summit-County Library and discovered that someone broke out a large side window leading to an employee break room there, police said.
Once inside, burglars ransacked a refrigerator and cupboards of the break room. It was unclear what was missing.
A few hours later in a separate case, Akron detectives discovered three break-ins on South Canton Road at Ellet Meats and two nearby addresses.
Someone pried open doors and windows on the south side of the buildings there. Nothing appears to be missing, police said.
