Arrests
A Lansing Road man, 34, was charged with theft. Police said he took money from customers for work to be completed but never turned the money over to his employer, CTI General Contractors. Total money taken was $12,560.95.
A 43-year-old man was charged with attempted burglary. Police said he attempted to break into a Lansing Road residence by kicking in the side door.
A Peckham Street man, 23, was charged with receiving stolen property. Police said he was found in possession of a stolen gun.
A North Hawkins Street man, 24, and a West Crosier Avenue man, 24, were charged with obstructing justice and tampering with evidence. Police said they took a van from Akron General Medical Center, preventing officers from locating evidence from a shooting. The vehicle was located several hours later, abandoned on Garfield Avenue.
A Sharon Copley Road man, 19, was charged with felonious assault. Police said he was involved in a confrontation along with group of individuals. During the confrontation, the man assaulted several people before he struck a woman in the head with a broken bottle, causing several lacerations to her head.
A West Market Street woman, 23, was charged with burglary. Police said she entered a home through an unlocked window, took three bags of clothing and personal items belonging to the resident and poured bleach over some of the property. The bags of clothing were recovered at the woman’s house.
An Easter Avenue woman, 44, was charged with passing bad checks. Police said the woman stated she performed Internet work for a company, then cashed a false check from the company at a gas station.
A Merriman Road man, 35, was charged with breaking and entering, criminal damage and resisting arrest. Police said he attempted to break into a Dodge Avenue residence along with a woman. They were apprehended at Payne Avenue and Beck Avenue. The man resisted and ran from officers. When caught, he was in possession of a hammer, photos of the damage to the Dodge Avenue residence, Social Security numbers and debit cards belonging to two other men, police said.
An Andrus Street man, 20, was charged with aggravated robbery. Police said he and another man robbed the Dollar General on Merriman Road of $300 and a cell phone.
A Windsor Avenue man, 25, was charged with driving under the influence, carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Police said he was involved in an accident with a Summa Security vehicle. The security officer observed a weapon, which was loaded.
An Eastwood Avenue man, 32, was charged with receiving stolen property. Police said he was in possession of a stolen gun on West Lowell Avenue.
A 15th Street SW man, 29, was charged with possessing a weapon illegally. Police said his DNA was found on the trigger of the rifle used at a shooting on Douglas Street in December.

A Douglass Avenue woman said she came home Feb. 5 to find her residence had been entered. TV and cash, total value $2,100, were gone.

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked in a lot in the 3900 block of Medina Road on Feb. 10. A credit card inside the wallet was used to make purchases at businesses in the Montrose area.

A Portage Lakes Drive man told police Feb. 7 that a safe and cash, total value $900, were taken from his home during a break-in.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
A 28-year-old Kent man, a 29-year-old Akron man and a 32-year-old State Road woman were charged Feb. 10 with illegal assembly of chemicals used in the manufacture of drugs. The Akron man also was charged with possession of methamphetamine. The Kent man and a 44-year-old Scott Avenue man were charged with obstructing official business and obstructing justice. The drugs and chemicals were found during two traffic stops on state Route 8 at Broad Boulevard, police said.
A 15-year-old Falls High School freshman was charged Feb. 6 with inducing panic. He is accused of threatening to shoot “numerous things including a teacher,” according to a police report.
A 23-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were charged Feb. 13 with possession of drug abuse instruments. The woman faces an additional charge of possession of heroin. They were arrested in the parking lot of Rite Aid, 1914 Bailey Road.
A 16-year-old Elmwood Street boy was charged Feb. 10 with public indecency. He is accused of walking through the Natatorium parking lot with his genitals exposed.

An apartment in the 2600 block of Third Street was burglarized Feb. 12. A television and Blu-ray player were taken.

Arrests
An Akron woman, 28, was arrested on a theft charge for allegedly stealing a shirt and a pair of pants from Dillard’s on Feb. 11. Police said she tried to put the merchandise in a Victoria Secret’s bag she brought into the store. Officers apprehended her while she was trying to leave the store. She has been banned from Dillard’s indefinitely.
An Akron woman was arrested on a theft charge for allegedly trying to steal polo shirts valued at $169 from Dillard’s on Feb. 10. Store security caught her entering the restroom with the merchandise. When she left the restroom, the clothes were not with her, police said. She eventually confessed the shirts were concealed in her purse.
An Akron man, 51, was arrested on theft charges Feb. 7. He allegedly tried to steal merchandise from Bath & Body Works by concealing it under his coat. Officers stopped him while he was trying to leave the mall through the food court. The total amount of stolen goods was $118.50.
Theft
A Smith Road woman, 89, told police someone had stolen $4,000 from her residence Jan. 1. She kept the money in a locked filing cabinet in her closet. She said the only people that have access to her apartment include residence personnel and her daughters.
Identity theft
An Akron woman, 29, told police she had been the victim of identity theft Feb. 9. When she tried to file her taxes, she was told her W-2 already had been processed and a refund check was pending. The fraud divisions of H&R Block and the IRS were contacted.

Arrests
An Alliance man, 20, was jailed in Summit County on a charge of identity fraud Feb. 9 after he was accused of trying to use a Guatemala man’s passport to fly to Atlanta. A TSA worker told authorities that the photo and physical description didn’t match.
An East Turkeyfoot Lake Road man, 27, was jailed in Summit on Feb. 3 when arrested on a burglary warrant.
A North Canton man, 38, of Portage Street NW was jailed in Summit on felony charges of forgery and theft Jan. 25. He allegedly took three checks belonging to his grandmother while visiting her at a Town Park Boulevard residence center, then forged and cashed them for $900.

An Irma Drive man said his home’s front door was kicked in and a $600 flat-screen TV was stolen Jan. 31.
Theft
An Avanti Street resident said Feb. 4 that someone had used her credit card information to make purchases totaling $1,543.

Arrests
Police said an Akron man they stopped on state Route 21 at Greenwich Road was in possession of an ounce of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun. He was charged with failure to drive in marked lanes and turned over to the Medina-Wayne Narcotics Task Force.
Robbery A man reported Feb. 12 he was robbed in a 31st Street NW parking lot by someone he knew. Witnesses told police the man had been crushing pills and snorting them and was hallucinating.
Voyeurism
A Reimer Road woman reported Feb. 8 she was getting dressed in her bedroom when she noticed a man outside her window after hearing something on the roof. Police followed footprints in the snow until the trail disappeared but did not find the suspect. A glove was found on the roof.
Springfield Township
Arrests
A Maxwell Avenue girl, 17, was charged with domestic violence Feb. 5. Police said the girl’s mother caught her as she tried to leave the house without permission. The girl shoved her mother and assaulted her before fleeing in a car with her boyfriend. She was later booked at the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
A 14-year-old Ritzmanor Drive female was booked at the Juvenile Detention Center on Feb. 4 for allegedly shoving her sister and threatening to stab her.
A Russell Avenue man, 25, was jailed on warrants for domestic violence and obstructing official business after he was found hiding in the bathtub Feb. 4.
Police charged a Kubler Road man with domestic violence and criminal damaging when he turned himself in Jan. 31, a day after he allegedly argued and grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and hit her head.
Felonious assault
A male student, 12, at the Super Learning Center on Wilson Avenue in Lakemore was placed in restraints and taken to a local hospital after he reportedly became violent, injuring a teacher by hitting her in the face Jan. 31.

Arrests
A 42-year-old Kent man was charged Feb. 7 with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a drug abuse instrument, driving under suspension and expired driver’s license. Police said the man was driving a stolen car when he crashed in the 1200 block of Chestnut Drive. The owner of the car declined to prosecute.
A 59-year-old Akron man was charged Feb. 7 with inducing panic and criminal trespassing. He is accused of causing employees at Dollar Bank, 3483 Hudson Drive, to panic because of his “odd behavior and inappropriate comments,” according to police.
Police said a 31-year-old North Royalton woman took her four children, ages 8 months to 9 years old, to meet a 66-year-old Tallmadge man in a Steels Corners Road parking lot to buy drugs. The woman is charged with two counts of possession of drugs. The man is charged with trafficking in drugs. Police confiscated oxycodone, clonazepam and $240. The children were released to a relative.
A 15-year-old Sedge Grass Trail girl was referred to Stow Youth Services on Jan. 28 for telecommunications harassment. She is accused of encouraging a friend to follow through on a threat to commit suicide. The friend was treated after taking several pills.
Breaking and entering
Copper pipes were stolen from a vacant Pencreek Road home between Jan. 23 and Feb. 8.
A garage in the 4200 block of Darrow Road was broken into Feb. 3. Two chain saws, valued at a total of $1,600, were taken.
Public indecency
A Hibbard Drive man reported Feb. 8 at 1:20 a.m. there was a man outside his window with his pants down, urinating in the bushes. The man was gone when police arrived.
Thefts
Someone made nearly $2,200 in fraudulent transactions using the Stow Public Library checking account, according to a police report filed Feb. 12.
A Hilwood Avenue woman reported Feb. 8 her mink coat, valued at $900, was stolen.
A wallet was stolen from the men’s locker room at Akron General Wellness Center, 4300 Allen Road, on Feb. 7.
Three guns were stolen from an unlocked gun cabinet in a Bryn Mawr Drive home.

Breaking and entering
Someone broke into a West Avenue hair salon Feb. 13. Approximately $200 was taken.
Burglaries
A home in the 500 block of Dunbar Road was burglarized Feb. 9.
The owners of a home in the 700 block of Pennwood Drive returned home from vacation Feb. 12 to find their home had been burglarized.
Thefts
Several vehicles in the city were broken into between Feb. 10 and 13. Items taken included credit cards and $15 in change.
Appliances and a flat-screen television were taken from a home in the 200 block of Strecker Drive and walls were damaged with spray paint and mustard. Marijuana plants and grow lights were confiscated from the residence by police. The owner told police he let several people live in the home.

Arrests
A 31-year-old Main Street man was charged Feb. 9 with domestic violence.
A 23-year-old Medina man was charged Feb 14 with assault and disorderly conduct. He is accused of assaulting a man at a home in the 100 block of Ault Avenue.
A 47-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both of Wooster, were charged Feb. 9 with theft. They are accused of stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise from Walmart, 222 E. Smokerise Drive.
A 24-year-old East Canton man was arrested Feb. 13 on a warrant for two counts of felonious assault. The warrants were discovered during a traffic stop.
Misuse of a credit card
A Rosemarie Circle couple reported Feb. 11 someone used their credit card account for two online purchases of more than $500 each.
Theft
A man reported Feb. 10 that while at a Broad Street gas station, someone tried to steal his car. He found the suspect sitting in the driver’s seat when he returned to his vehicle. The suspect fled when confronted.

Arrests
A 22-year-old Chagrin Falls man was arrested Feb. 12 on a warrant for possession of a dangerous drug. He also faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 31-year-old Cherry Street woman was arrested Feb. 11 on a warrant for theft of drugs.
A 31-year-old Akron Boulevard man was arrested Feb. 10 on a warrant for burglary.
Burglaries
A residence in the 700 block of Cuyahoga Street was broken into Feb. 7. A video game system was taken.
Jewelry and $20 were taken during the burglary of a residence in the 500 block of Harvey Street on Feb. 10.

Arrests
An Akron woman, 41, of Noble Avenue, was jailed in Stark County on Feb. 7 on a charge of passing bad checks. She was arrested at her home on a Jackson police warrant.
Charges of felonious assault and obstruction of official business were filed against a Malibu Avenue NW man, 31, after he allegedly shoved a Jackson police officer and put his hands on the officer’s throat. The incident occurred in front of a Summit County sheriff’s deputy armed with a warrant charging the man with threats of intimidation. A handgun and shotgun were discovered in the living room.
Thefts
A cell phone and other items, total value $850, were reported stolen from AT&T at the Westfield Belden Village Mall on Feb. 2.
A Stuart Street NW woman told police Feb. 1 that sometime between Sept. 1 and Jan. 13 more than $40,000 worth of items, mostly jewelry, belonging to her and others was stolen from the residence.
A Pickerington resident told authorities Jan. 31 that a wide variety of tools and carpentry equipment, total value $3,900, was stolen after a padlock was cut off his trailer parked at the Red Roof Inn on Inn Circle NW.
A Strasburg man told Jackson police Jan. 30 that someone entered his truck while parked outside Kohl’s Department Store on Dressler Road NW and stole 12 coats, total value $640.

A North Prospect Avenue resident, 38, was jailed on charges of telephone harassment and violation of a protection order when arrested at his home for allegedly having phone contact with a female against a court order.

Police last week filed a report received Jan. 9 from a city resident, who said she had learned and confirmed through her daughter, 12, that the child had been sexually assaulted by a boy around Thanksgiving.
Burglary
A $2,300 rear-projection TV was discovered missing from an Everhard Road NW apartment Jan. 21 when a friend went to check the residence.
Theft
Police last week filed a report that jewelry valued at $4,600 was reported stolen Dec. 23 from a woman’s Hallum Street SW home.

Arrests
A Shrine Place NW resident, 48, was booked on a charge of domestic violence Feb. 3. He was accused of threatening to kill his wife.
A Vinal Avenue NW man, 59, was jailed Feb. 2 on a charge of domestic violence after a deputy was told the suspect pushed his son off a chair onto the floor and punched him in the head and neck area.

An Akron man, 23, of Jordan Lane, was arrested at a Speedway Gas Station on Canton Road on Feb. 4 on a charge of domestic violence. He was accused of punching a man in the face and fleeing with his girlfriend before being apprehended.
A Louisville man, 46, of Woodard Avenue NE, was charged with felony domestic violence following a physical altercation with a daughter Feb. 3.
On Feb. 1, a Cleveland Avenue NW man, 28, was jailed by police on a warrant for felonious assault.
Burglary
On Feb. 5, a Holbrook Avenue NW resident told police someone entered her home and stole a $2,178 computer.
Three handguns, an electronic tablet and charger, total value $2,000, were reported stolen from a Sweitzer Road man’s home.

A Chippewa Township man, 25, was arrested Feb. 12 on a charge of felony domestic violence after deputies said he fought with his girlfriend, 25, at their residence in the 14700 block of Oak Grove Drive.

A golf cart, a fan and two cushions were reported stolen Feb. 9 from a campground in the 4400 block of Prairie Lane, Wooster Township.
Burglary
A laptop computer and prescription drugs valued at $352 were reported taken Feb. 6 from a residence in the 400 block of North Bauer Road, Wooster Township.
Thefts
An AR 15 rifle, a scope and a light, worth $1,632, were reported stolen Feb. 13 from a pickup truck in the 2500 block of Stahr Lane, Wooster Township.
A laptop computer valued at $2,000 was reported taken Feb. 6 from a business in the 2500 block of Mark Street, Wooster Township.

Arrests
A Wooster man, 28, and his girlfriend, 29, were arrested Feb. 8 after police said a fight broke out with residents at their home in the 700 block of Quinby Avenue. The man was charged with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The woman was arrested on charges of felonious assault, possession of cocaine and conveyance of drugs. Police said she brandished a knife and cocaine fell out of her bra. Both were taken to the Wayne County Jail.
Breaking and entering
A fire pit, a leaf blower and other items valued at $830 were reported stolen Feb. 10 from a residence in the 300 block of North Walnut Street.
