Summit County

Bath Township

Arrests

A man, 19, was charged with two counts of trafficking in drugs, obstructing official business, two counts of possession of drugs and two traffic citations July 25. During a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Medina Road, police reported finding marijuana, a large amount of money and suspected Oxycodone in the vehicle.

Misuse of a credit card

A woman, 22, told police July 25 that someone stole her wallet from her car and used a credit card to make unauthorized purchases.

Copley Township

Vandalism

A Copley woman, 44, told police her car was damaged when two people fought outside Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham. By the time officers arrived, the fight was over. The person renting rooms where a party was being held agreed to pay for damage to the car.

Loud party

While evicting people from a party at Hawthorn Suites, officers found a man, 26, passed out in a bedroom. He was wanted on a domestic violence warrant and a misdemeanor traffic offense in Canton.

Coventry

Theft

Golf clubs and a bag, total value $600, were reported stolen July 21 from a vehicle parked at a Wood Duck Lane residence.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

A West Bath Road man, 48, was charged with violating a protection order July 29 after he continually called his ex-girlfriend.

A Seibel Drive girl, 12, was charged with domestic violence July 30 after she allegedly hit her mother.

An Alliance man, 28, was charged with possession of criminal tools and illegal assembly of chemicals to manufacture drugs July 25.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into a garage July 23-24 in the 2500 block of 23rd Street and stole golf clubs, total value $1,000.

Burglaries

A television and video game system were taken July 30 from a home in the 300 block of Graham Road.

Someone entered a home July 30 in the 600 block of Edwards Avenue and stole a television and prescription medication.

A video game system and accessories were missing July 26 from an apartment in the 1500 block of East Hunters Lake Drive.

Someone broke into a home July 27 in the 1500 block of Northmoreland Boulevard and stole a guitar and two computers, total value $1,800.

A washer and dryer, total value $2,400, were stolen July 25 from a rental unit in the 400 block of Sackett Avenue.

Identity thefts

A Kendall Circle woman, 59, reported July 29 that someone hacked into her joint savings account twice and took $6,100.

A 12th Street woman, 41, reported July 25 that a man she knows took over her Facebook page, posed as a woman and posted pictures and information. When she closed the page, the man created another one.

Thefts

A Curtis Avenue woman reported July 28 that she paid a man $3,600 to remodel her kitchen and front porch. He finished only the kitchen and has been avoiding her.

An Eighth Street man reported July 24 that someone took his 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle from the garage storage unit of his apartment building. An apartment in the same complex was broken into the same day. A television was taken.

Arrests

An Akron man, 31, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated July 24 after a Metro RTA driver told police that the passenger had caused problems on a bus before passing out. The driver said the man was drinking Southern Comfort from a Starbucks cup.

An Akron girl, 16, was charged with theft July 26 after she allegedly stole $119 in goods from Crazy Eights in Summit Mall. She ran from police but was found in bushes.

A Riviera Drive woman, 48, was charged with theft July 24 after she allegedly stole money jars from a neighbor’s bedroom.

Green

Arrests

A Cottage Grove Road man, 28, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly threw his wife to the floor and choked her July 19.

A Henderson, Tenn., man, 47, was charged with aggravated menacing July 18 after he allegedly threatened to kill his father.

Burglary

A $1,000 laptop computer was reported stolen July 18 from a Royal County Down Drive home.

Thefts

An Eddieshire Road man told deputies July 16 someone entered his home and stole an $800 iPad.

Deputies investigated the July 14 theft of $2,221 from a safe at Arby’s restaurant on Sandy Knoll Drive.

A Harring Road resident told deputies July 10 that her bank notified her of $900 in unusual charges from her account.

New Franklin

Arrests

A Doylestown man, 28, of Vince Drive, and an Akron man, 33, of Darrow Road, were charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs, illegal possession of chemicals and possession of drugs, all felonies. The drug-related items were found in the vehicle July 21 during a traffic stop on South Main Street at East Caston Road.

A Norton woman, 41, of Watkins Road, was charged with domestic violence after she allegedly put her daughter, 16, against a wall and hit her with her fist.

Springfield Township

Arrests

A Dover woman, 39, was charged with felonious assault of a peace officer and disorderly conduct July 19 at the Red Roof Inn on South Arlington Road.

A Slagle Road man, 21, was arrested July 19 on warrants alleging domestic violence and cultivation of marijuana a day after he allegedly kicked his grandfather. The older man had told him to remove marijuana plants found growing on the property.

An Akron man, 26, was arrested July 17 on a robbery warrant after he allegedly tried to rob the Marc’s store on East Waterloo Road and threatened to kill a clerk July 4. The suspect fled after the clerk got on a loudspeaker and said she was being robbed.

A Burr Place woman, 43, was charged with domestic violence July 16 following a quarrel with her husband.

Burglary

A Fettro Road man reported July 22 that someone entered his home and stole headphones, an iPad and other items, total value $580.

Theft

A representative of Pro Fab on Pressler Road told police July 21 that a woman went to HD Supply in Oakwood Village and purchased 120 feet of cooper tubing valued at $993 and billed it to Pro Fab without authorization.

Arrests

A Hanna Road woman, 34, was charged with domestic violence July 27 after she allegedly punched a relative and pulled her hair.

An Echo Valley Drive man, 20, was charged with assault July 26 after he allegedly struck a woman, 18.

A Streetsboro man, 37, was charged with disrupting public service, domestic violence and theft July 26 after he allegedly grabbed his estranged wife in her Atterbury Lane home and took her cellphone.

A Fishcreek Road man, 63, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence July 28 after he allegedly punched a woman, 63, in the face.

An Akron man, 22, was charged with forgery and obstructing official business July 25.

Burglaries

A Hudson Drive man, 52, told police July 25 that he returned home and found a neighbor inside his apartment. The suspect left the apartment with a luffa.

Someone entered a home July 23 in the 3000 block of Lakepoint Court and stole a purse and electronics.

Officers arrested a man, 18, and a woman, 24, both of Beachler Road, on felony warrants. An Akron man, 23, also was arrested on a warrant.

Burglary

Someone stole two televisions and prescription drugs July 27 from a home in the 200 block of Fawnwood Drive.

Child abuse

A woman told police July 28 that her son ran away. The child, who was wearing just boxer briefs, was found at the library and showed signs of abuse. The mother was arrested.

Brunswick

Suspicious man

A Regal Avenue resident called police July 28 to complain that someone was banging on his door and demanding to be let in. The resident went to the door armed with a gun and told the intruder to leave. The stranger told police he thought he was banging on the door of his girlfriend’s home. He was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Police found a man digging through a trash bin outside the now-closed Whitey’s Army and Navy surplus store July 30.

Burglary

A Hamilton Road resident called police July 27 to report the theft of a handgun.

Montville Township

Vandalism

A daughter checking on her father’s house while he was vacationing discovered July 28 that inside plants had been knocked over along with a wooden window treatment. Police investigated and found the culprit was the family’s cat.

Stark County

Jackson Township

Arrests

An Akron man, 44, of Tallmadge Avenue, was charged with felony burglary, theft, vandalism and obstructing official business July 20 after being arrested outside Manor Care Nursing Home on Higbee Avenue Northwest. Police said he took $1,223 worth of merchandise from Sears at Belden Village Mall. Police used a Taser twice to subdue him.

A Plain Township woman, 24, of 30th Street Northeast, was arrested July 16 on warrants alleging felony theft and endangering children. Police said she stole $1,575 in men’s and women’s clothing from a Belden Village store while accompanied by two young children.

An Akron woman, 27, of Chittenden Street, was charged with felony theft July 23 after she allegedly took $1,099 in merchandise from The Buckle at Belden Village Mall. Police said the items were recovered but had been damaged.

An Akron woman, 43, of Wilbeth Road, was arrested July 16 on warrants alleging passing bad checks and criminal trespassing.

Forgery

A Frank Avenue man told police July 18 that $1,912 in checks were forged and cashed in Indiana.

Identity theft

A Red Fox Avenue Northwest man told police July 18 that the MasterCard fraud unit told him that his credit card was used for $850 in New York purchases.

Thefts

Three women entered the Sears store July 19 at Belden Village Mall, went into a dressing room, concealed $575 in clothing and fled with paying.

Someone stole a $600 laptop computer July 17 from Repair & Customize in Belden Village Mall after video cameras wre turned off.

Lake Township

Arrests

A Dotwood Street Northwest man, 30, was charged with domestic violence and aggravated menacing July 21 after he allegedly shoved his wife against a wall, knocked her to the ground, hit her, pointed a gun and threatened to commit murder-suicide.

A Canton woman, 31, of Tuscarawas Street West, was arrested July 23 in the 8300 block of Cleveland Avenue Northwest on warrants alleging two counts of felony receiving stolen property, felony misuse of credit cards and theft.

Theft

Deputies were notified that someone stole $1,895 from Kames Sporting Goods on Cleveland Avenue Northwest over a six-month span.

North Canton

Arrests

A Plain Township woman, 50, of William Street Northeast, was arrested July 21 on a felony theft warrant after she allegedly took $1,500 during a credit card transaction at the Marathon gas station on South Main Street.

A Canton man, 33, of Second Street Southeast, was arrested July 21 on a warrant alleging felonious assault of a peace officer and theft.

Plain Township

Arrests

A Canton man, 32, of Union Avenue Southwest, was charged with breaking and entering and theft July 20 after he allegedly took copper wiring from an American Electric Power substation on Middlebranch Avenue Northeast.

A 32nd Street Northeast man was charged with domestic violence July 18 after he allegedly pushed another man and tried to tackle him.

A Rowland Avenue Northeast man was charged with domestic violence July 17 after he allegedly pushed his wife and struck her with a car door.
