Arrests
A Corice Avenue man, 23, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after he allegedly drove through a red light at Russell Street and Manchester Road. Officers stopped his vehicle at South Street and Lakeshore Boulevard. Police said the man was driving on a suspended license and had a loaded gun in the car.
A Springfield Township man, 21, of Canfield Road, was charged with willfully fleeing and obstructing official business after he allegedly led officers on a car chase, driving through red lights and stop signs with no regard for public safety.
A Shaefer Street man, 71, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly tried to stab someone several times with a knife during a domestic dispute.
A 15th Street Southwest man, 53, was charged with breaking and entering and trespassing on railroad tracks. Officers reported seeing the man with a pile of scrap on railroad tracks next to City Scrap and Salvage Company on West Wilbeth Road. He ran but was apprehended. The man told police he was taking scrap from the salvage yard and from the tracks.
An Akron man, 53, was charged with burglary after his fingerprints were found at the scene of a break-in at a Cutler Parkway home, police said.
A Thayer Street man, 58, was charged with domestic violence.

A Dahlia Circle man, 21, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 17 after he allegedly pushed a woman down in his bedroom and in a hallway, where she hit her head on a wall.
A Hagey Drive man, 21, was charged with robbery Oct. 17 after he allegedly took $80 from a Barberton woman at his home.
Breaking and entering
Copper pipe valued at $1,750 was reported stolen Oct. 16 from a vacant Van Street house.
Burglary
Food, a game system and other items, total value $655, were reported stolen Oct. 11 from a Tennessee Place home.
Theft
An East Robinson Avenue resident told police Oct. 12 that $4,900 in jewelry was stolen from the home over the past several weeks.

An Akron man, 27, was charged with domestic abuse Oct. 21 after he allegedly attacked his sister, 30, during a quarrel. She was transported to Akron General Medical Center.
A Traverse City man, 41, was charged with violating a temporary protection order for his daughter, 21. He allegedly went to see her at her place of employment Oct. 17.
Theft
A Steak and Shake manager told police that two adults with three children had a meal and then fled without paying Oct. 19.
Family dispute
An Earhart Avenue man, 68, told police Oct. 19 that his son was trying to poison him. Responding officers spoke with his wife and found out the man suffers from dementia. His son had not lived at the residence for eight years, and had no history of harming family members.

A Clinton man, 64, was charged Oct. 17 with public indecency after he allegedly defecated in a vending room at a High Street high-rise building.
A man, 20, and boy, 16, were charged with theft Oct. 18 after they allegedly stole items from cars in the 2000 block of Archwood Place.
Felonious assault
A Johnson Avenue woman, 20, told police Oct. 22 that a man stabbed her in the abdomen when she refused to give him a cigarette.
Burglary
Someone broke into a home Oct. 18 in the 2100 block of Albertson Parkway and stole $500 in property.
Someone tried to break into a home Oct. 18 in the 2300 block of 26th Street.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into a resale shop Oct. 23 in the 2600 block of State Road, took $200 from a safe, $10 in coins from a register and a pair of black Nike shoes.
Criminal damaging
A woman told police that another woman purposefully rammed a vehicle into her car Oct. 18 in a driveway in the 2400 block of Willis Street.
Theft
Jewelry valued at $7,000 to $12,000 was stolen Oct. 6-21 from a home in the 3300 block of Purdue Street.
A Riverview Road woman told police Oct. 20 that someone took a bank check and her ATM card. The check was forged and cashed, and the card was used for $900 in unauthorized transactions.
A Magnolia Avenue man told police Oct. 18 that someone he knows stole $110 from his 86-year-old mother’s checking account.
Vandalism
Someone ripped an air-conditioning line out of a wall Oct. 18 at the VFW building at 1581 Main St. The unit was replaced for $7,300.

A Fulton woman, 27, was charged with theft Oct. 19 at Macy’s at Summit Mall after she concealed a shirt and sweater, total value $121, in her purse and exited the store without paying.
An Akron woman, 26, was charged with theft Oct. 20 after she allegedly tried to steal $167 worth of merchandise from Macy’s in Summit Mall.
A Norton man, 22, told police Oct. 21 that someone smashed a back window of his car and stole $30 and a pack of cigarettes.
Thieves took a 500-pound outdoor umbrella Oct. 18 from Kids Country.
A Norton woman, 21, and a Norton man 28, were charged with trying to steal $215 in merchandise Oct. 18 from Wal-Mart. They have been banned from all Wal-Mart stores.

A Jamaica, N.Y., man, 30, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct Oct. 8 at Akron-Canton Airport after he allegedly became disruptive and spit blood on a deputy’s face and neck.

A Massillon Road resident told police Oct. 15 that $3,000, a revolver and other items were taken from her home after a key from an outdoor hiding place was stolen.
Two guitars, total value $5,000, were reported stolen Oct. 11 from a Cottage Grove Road home.
Theft
An aluminum sign valued at $1,500 was reported stolen Oct. 14 from property on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road.
A Greensburg Road man told police Oct. 11 that someone used his credit-card number to remove $1,952 from his account.

A West Prospect Street juvenile was charged with domestic violence Oct. 17 after he allegedly shoved his mother and threatened her.

A Kyle Lane woman, 24, was charged with receiving stolen property Oct. 14 after she allegedly had money and six rings, total value $560, taken Sept. 4 from an Orchard Lane home.
A Shadybrook Drive man, 20, was charged with felony assault Oct. 12 over an incident Aug. 23 at a Royal Fern Drive home.
Robbery
A man entered the Dollar General store Oct. 15 on South Arlington Road, purchased a drink, reached into an open cash drawer and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

A rifle and money, total value $630, were reported stolen Oct. 16 from Ken’s Auto Warehouse on Massillon Road.
Burglary
A dog sitter told police Oct. 14 that he went to a friend’s home on Laverne Lane and discovered that two flat-screen TVs and other items, total value $1,180, were missing.
Identity fraud
A township women told police Oct. 11 that a man identifying himself as a PayPal representative called to say that he needed her personal and bank account information. Her account with $651 was cleaned out the next day.
Theft
A plastic tote and 165 fishing lures, total value $1,055, were reported stolen Oct. 12 from the Walmart on South Arlington Road.

A Franklin Road man, 41, was charged with unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine Oct. 24.

Jewelry valued at more than $3,300 was taken Oct. 20 from a home in the 3500 block of Homewood Avenue.
An Akron woman told police Oct. 23 that someone stole a credit card from the glove compartment of her car while it was parked in the 4200 block of Bridgewater Parkway. She said the card was deactivated. She kept it in the car to use as an ice scraper.
An Arndale Road woman, 77, was reportedly deceived into giving cash and checks to someone she knows, police were told Oct. 28.

A Parmelee Drive man, 31, was charged with domestic violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana Oct. 23. Police responded to the 50 block of Southeast Avenue for a report of an abduction. Witnesses told police that a man forced a teen into his vehicle. Police discovered that the man was the father of the 14-year-old boy. The man admitted to police he grabbed his son off his bicycle, and that his son fought him as he put him in the vehicle. The man told police he then punched his son in the face. The teen was on his way to the police department to turn in a plastic bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia that he told police belonged to his father.
Identity theft
An Amy Trail woman told police Oct. 24 that someone used her husband’s information to open a PayPal account and make more than $4,200 in transactions.
A South Munroe Road man reported Oct. 22 that someone used his information to open an Internet credit account and make $4,000 in fraudulent purchases.
Misuse of credit card
An Outlook Drive woman reported Oct. 22 that someone used her credit-card information to make more than $1,800 in fraudulent purchases through PayPal from June 13-19.
Theft
An aluminum siding brake valued at $2,300 was taken Oct. 20-22 from a driveway in the 1100 block of South Munroe Street.
Someone stole three tires and wheels Oct. 22 from a truck at Park Ford, 400 West Ave. The thief cut a hole in a fence to access the truck. Damaged was estimated at $2,500.

An Akron woman told police Oct. 23 a man she was dating took medication from her purse while the two were in Tallmadge.

Arrests
A Rhodes Road man, 25, was arrested Oct. 19 on a warrant alleging burglary and sexual imposition. He is accused of breaking into an apartment and fondling a woman.
Two brothers, ages 24 and 28, of Burton, Ohio, were charged with two counts of burglary Oct. 21 after they allegedly broke into two Sherman Street apartments. Officers arrested them in the apartment building after a witness called police. Damage to a broken door was estimated at $150.

A Massillon man, 45, of James Street, was charged with aggravated menacing Oct. 14 after he allegedly threatened his wife.

Scrap material valued at $3,000 was reported stolen Oct. 10 from TEK USA on Elmridge Avenue.

An Oakcrest Avenue Northwest woman, 24, was charged with two counts of theft and one of receiving stolen property Oct. 17 at Kohl’s on Dressler Road Northwest. Police said she entered a fitting room with clothing and emerged with stuffed shopping bags. When questioned, she reportedly told police that she also took $280 in makeup and jewelry from the Target on Dressler.
A Portage Street Northwest man, 39, was charged with domestic violence Oct. 13 after he allegedly slapped his wife.
A Taggart Street Northwest woman, 29, was charged with felony misuse of a credit card Oct. 17.
A South Euclid man, 47, was arrested Oct. 12 on forgery warrant.
Identity fraud
A Plain Township woman told police Oct. 9 that someone in Florida used information from her credit card from Stark Federal Credit Union on Dressler Road Northwest to make unauthorized purchases totaling $1,280.
Fraud
A township man told police he wired almost $600 to a man who said he was with Dish Network and would pay a full year of Dish billing if the victim would send half.
Theft
An employee of CD Mart on Wales Avenue Northwest told police Oct. 14 that he received a call from a man who said he was with Western Union and needed account information to update records. The employee later discovered $920 was stolen from his account.
A $600 cell phone belonging to an Akron man was reported stolen Oct. 13 from Christie’s Cabaret on Everhard Road Northwest.
A laptop computer and jeans, total value $894, were stolen Oct. 12 from the Sears store at Westfield Belden Village Mall.
A $900 gas monitor was reported stolen Oct. 11 from a desk at Great Plains Oil Field Rental on Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest.

The owner of J&R Trailer Sales, 10828 Dover Road, Salt Creek Township, reported Oct. 3 that someone tried to pay the business without sufficient funds in an account.

A radio and a GPS unit, total value $299, were reported stolen Oct. 16 from a car in the 1600 block of Hickory Lane.
A snow blower valued at $300 was reported stolen Oct. 9 from a shed in the 400 block of College Avenue.
The owner of Hair Designers & Tanning reported Oct. 14 that she found a file on the ground and pry marks on the rear door of her business at 424 N. Market St.
Two computers, a video recording system and other items, total value $2,908, were reported stolen Oct. 14 from Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Road.
Burglaries
A television worth $260 was reported taken Oct. 14 from a home in the 200 block of Mulberry Street.
A Woodland Avenue resident reported Oct. 15 that someone tore a hole in a screen to unlock a door but nothing was taken.
Forgeries
Someone deposited a check for $1,292 into an account and withdrew $292 in cash Oct. 15 at First National Bank, 4192 Burbank Road. Another check for $1,156 also was deposited. The owner of the account said someone forged his name to the checks. A police report said a similar incident occurred Oct. 6 when someone deposited a check for $1,256 and $256 was withdrawn in cash.

A Wooster man, 22, reported Oct. 15 that he believes a family member changed his passwords to his email and Facebook accounts.
A Wooster woman, 69, reported Oct. 15 that someone used her credit card to purchase items worth $16 in Mexico.
Robbery
A Wooster man, 22, reported Oct. 16 that four people assaulted him in the 400 block of East Larwill Street.
Thefts
The owners of Mr. J’s Lunchbox reported Oct. 16 that someone took their business checkbook, forged their names and wrote eight checks for $3,538 which were cashed at PNC Bank.
Someone forged a name Oct. 12 on checks for $602 on a closed account at Commercial & Savings Bank, 3562 Commerce Parkway.
A 1985 Geo worth $1,000 was stolen Oct. 12 from a yard in the 700 block of Spruce Street. The driver fled from police.
A Cardinal Court woman reported Sept. 19 that someone she knew stole her food stamp card.
